"Hey Julie." I look up and smile at my angel as she walks down the stairs.

"Mikey? What are you doing here?" She asks and I look back up at her. She remembers him?

"Just chillin'." Mikey shrugs. "So how are you?" He asks her softly. She looks over at me uneasily.

"Did you tell him?" She mouths. I shake my head.

"Good, you?"

"Good."

"Remember when you and your other two friends forced me to learn how to fight?" She asks and he nods.

"That was fun. And then we all went to Applebee's and you left us without anyone knowing. And then Carlos had to keep you from almost getting arrested." They laugh as she sits next to him at the island, across from me.

"You remember that?" I ask with a brow raised. She looks at me and her smile drops.

"Y-Yeah." She nods. I set my phone down and sit up straighter.

"What else do you remember?" She stares at me for a minute before glancing at Mikey and back to me.

"That's it." She says, looking at her hands.

"That's it?" I ask disappointed. She doesn't say anything. "Are you sure you can't remember anything else? You don't remember anything like why you went to the hospital or what happened to your arm?"

"You could've killed me!" She yells suddenly, slamming her hands on the countertop. I stare at her, shocked, before looking to Mikey. He's looking between the two of us confused.

"Mikey, could you leave us?" I ask. He nods and walks upstairs. I look back to Julie. "What are you talking about? Do you really remember?" I stand up from my chair.

  "Y-Yes." She sighs.

"When did you get your memory back?"

"W-When you... when you did that thing to me the other night."

"What thing?" I furrow my brows.

"The kiss." She whispers and I smirk.

"The kiss? The kiss brought your memory back?" I smile.

"No, I just happened to get it back at that exact time."

"Why didn't you tell me you got your memory back?"

"Because." She shrugs.

"Because why Julie? Tell me why you didn't want me to know you remember everything?"

"Because... because I had fun with you Carlos!" She shouts. "We were getting closer to each other! And that can't happen!"

  "Why not?" I frown.

"Because if I get to close to you I could loose you!" Tears leak down her cheeks. "I don't want to loose you Carlos!"

  I walk over to her.

"You won't loose me." I shake my head, wrapping my arms around her waste.

"I could Carlos, I could. You're in a gang, your life is dangerous. I don't want to loose you, I don't want to get hurt like that." She pushes me away.

"Julie, I promise you won't loose me." I take her hands.

"You don't know that Carlos! I can't get close to you. Remember the car crash? I could have died Carlos, you could have killed me! You could have died too! What if you did? And I didn't? I wouldn't know what to do."

"Hey, come here." I pull her into me and hold her against me. "If anything ever happens to me, Julie, don't let that stop you from living your life. You got that? I let Sadie's death stop me from living my life, you can't do the same."

She lays her head against my chest.

"And if anything does happen to me, you have to know it wasn't your fault. Ok? None of this is your fault." I kiss her head. "And I'll protect you with all my life. You won't get hurt, not again."
