Chapter 10: Freed is back

It was a calm morning in Grayfia's mansion. Everyone was sitting around, talking, laughing, and sleeping. Ryuga was in a corner reading a book on different gods of pantheons, when Kiba and Sasuke (who had gotten along pretty well) approached him. 

Sasuke: "We have a bit of a situation."

Ryuga closed his book and looked at them both for a few seconds. He then placed the book down on a nearby table and breathed deeply.... then let it out.

Ryuga: "And? Does it require my presence?"

Sasuke: "No, but it's something you might want to know."

Ryuga: "Oh? Do tell."

Kiba: "Freed is back!"

Ryuga: "Freed. Freed. Freeeedd. Who's Freed? Should I know him?"

Kiba and Sasuke face palmed. They explained who Freed was and that he had more than one excalibur artifact. 

Ryuga: "And I should care about this why?"

Kiba: "Because if he is somehow getting more relics, then someone strong must be giving it to him."

Ryuga: "Someone, strong?"

Sasuke: "Yes. We all know how you like to fight strong opponents."

Ryuga: "But before me, there are none stronger."

Kiba: "I also have information that the man that ran the Holy Sword Project, Valper Galilei, is helping gather the relics."

Ryuga: "Have you told your king about that?"

Kiba: "Not yet, but-"

Ryuga: "Then go, your past is not my concern. However, if she needs help with this 'strong' opponent, I'll help."

Kiba: "Yes sir." 

Kiba walked away, going to find Rias about his problem. When he turned a corner, Sasuke spoke up.

Sasuke: "Don't you care even a little bit about him?"

Ryuga: "Him? No."

Sasuke: "Is there anyone you care about?"

Ryuga: "Of course, my mo-"

Sasuke: "Besides your mother, daughter, or granddaughter."

Ryuga: "I suppose I care for my peerage. Who are you to talk though? Didn't you betray your entire village or something?"

Sasuke: *sigh* "That's in my past. I'm not proud of it, but I can't change it. I have a loving wife and a wonderful daughter to care for."

Ryuga: "And that's it? No one else?"

Sasuke: "I had a brother.. he's dead though. I guess you could say I care for the entire of Hidden Leaf Village."

Ryuga: "I see, interesting. Perhaps I should try this 'caring' you speak of."

Sasuke shook his head and walked off, leaving Ryuga to open his book again. While he was reading, Kiba informed Rias about what was going on. She didn't want Kiba to pay much attention to it, since the exorcists said they would handle it. Needless to say, Kiba didn't take this lightly. He eventually stormed out and went to find Issei for help. Koneko followed him, and Saji followed Issei. 

The quad team of Kiba, Issei, Koneko, and Saji went to find the exorcists. When they did, they decided to try to take on Freed. Apparently six people couldn't take on one excalibur wielding maniac. Freed managed to escape with Valper. After they kind of got their asses handed to them, the quad team got into trouble with their respective kings.

Rias gave Issei and Koneko spanking, while Saji got his ass completely destroyed by Sona. It was after this that they noticed Kiba was still missing. Figuring out that Kiba was probably with the exorcists, trying to find Freed and Valper, Rias wanted to ask Ryuga for help. 

Rias teleported (using the ring) to Ryuga's dimension, but she saw something she wasn't expecting. Her mother, Venelana Bael, was bent over a bed with her hands cuffed behind her, whilst Ryuga was driving her in from behind. Rias let out a yelp, which startled her mother. Ryuga quickly covered both himself and his mother up, and yelled at Rias.

Ryuga: "You better have a damn good explanation for coming here while I'm busy!"

However, his words didn't get through to the blushing redhead. Smoke looked as if it was coming out of her ears, and she was twitching like a tick on a trampoline.

Rias: "Y-Y-you t-wo w-w-were a-nd s-she w-a."

Venelana: "I'm sorry you had to see that honey. We weren't expecting any guests."

Rias somehow managed to compose herself, and stood up straight. She breathed in, then let go, and asked Ryuga a question.

Rias: "Big Brother Ryuga."

Ryuga's mind: "That just sounds a little weird."

Ryuga: "What? As I said, you better have a good reason. We almost got to the good part." Rias blushed again.

Rias: "I-I'd Like your help to find my missing servant."

Ryuga: "What happened?"

Rias: "Kiba, Issei, and Koneko went to find Freed. Freed retreated, but now I can't find Kiba."

Ryuga: "I'll send Hakurou and Yoruichi to find them."

Rias: "Thank you."

Ryuga: "Now get out, I have some unfinished business to attend to."

Rias: "O-okay."

She left, allowing Ryuga and Venelana to finish having their 'bonding' secession. 

Yoruichi and Hakurou left to find the exorcists and Kiba. They eventually found Kiba and Xenovia, who were both attacked my Freed, but got away. Xenovia asked where Irina went, but no one saw her. An hour went by and they found Irina's lifeless corpse against a tree, with many slices and stabs. Yoruichi used the ring to communicate to Ryuga.

Yoruichi: "Hey boss, we got a problem.."

A/N: Sorry for the short chapter, I've been trying to think of ways to go off plot and have some original plot, but it's been a little difficult. I've been extremely busy this past couple weeks, and wanted to get a chapter out ASAP for ya'll. Luckily my schedule should (should) be freeing up soon, allowing me to focus more on original plot and just better writing in general. Next chapter will be involving Kokabiel, and finishing up that arc. I hope it will be atleast 1k words, and have some good moments to it.
