Chapter 15: Trip to the Underworld

Ryuga woke from a long slumber, to find nothing but peace in his dimension. Venelana was spending time with Grayfia and Milicas, which gave him time to be alone. He got out of bed and got changed like usual. He gathered up his two "slaves" and walked to school. Between now and the peace summit, Azazel became the adviser, of sorts, to the ORC. He stated that he and the ORC would go to the underworld, and asked Ryuga to come. Ryuga guessed that it had something to do about the treaty the devils were going to sign with Odin, which Azazel confirmed. The current Lucifer wanted Ryuga to be there in case.. something goes wrong. Ryuga agreed, mostly because it might be interesting, and that's all the important information that happened between now and then. 

School went by how it always did, uneventful. Ryuga had to stop getting his lunch from the bathroom, since two boys reported him to Sona. Coincidentally enough, those two boys disappeared for the next school day, and when they came back, they were acting very different. 

After school was over, Ryuga visited the ORC. Azazel told him they'd all head to the underworld on a train. Ryuga decided that Esdeath would accompany him on this trip, since she was neither of the three factions. While on the train, Azazel, Ryuga, and Rias were in a separate room from the others.

Ryuga: "So. About this training exercise. I don't think Esdeath should participate."

Azazel: "Are you perhaps worried for her?"

Ryuga: "Worried at how she'll act. If she gets serious, she's extremely formidable."

Rias: "So you want us to exclude her? That might give them knowledge of the surprise though."

Ryuga: "Perhaps."

Azazel: "It's fine. We'll tell her."

They got up and walked back to the other room. Asia and Issei were talking to each other. Kiba, Xenovia, Koneko, and Gasper were telling stories, and Akeno and Esdeath were also sharing experiences. The train stopped above Sitri territory, and around that time, Sona and Tsubaki walked into the room.

Sona: "Thank you again for letting us use the Gremory train."

Rias: "No problem Sona. Have a nice day."

They both walked out, and the train starting off again. It didn't take too long before it reached Gremory territory. Many who didn't see the underworld before were amazed at the size of it. 

Azazel: "There will be a meeting with the Norse mythology tonight. Be on your best behavior."

Everyone agreed, but then were teleported without Rias, Azazel, Ryuga, or Esdeath. Back in the train, Esdeath looked confused, but Ryuga just motioned for her to follow him. The eventually got to a canyon where the ORC was defending against a smaller dragon. They weren't doing too well, and Akeno's leadership skills could use improvement. Needless to say they got handed, and Azazel had to stop Tannin, the dragon, from injuring them even further. 

Rias: "Sorry for this, but it was a test everyone."

Kiba: "President, this was training?"

Rias: "Yes. We wanted to see how you all could react in emergency situations."

Akeno: "Well. We didn't do too well."

Azazel: "You're exactly right. While you're here, you will all be training, not just partying."

The team finally arrived at the Gremory House, who was under the rule of Rias's grandparents now. Zeoticus was still being punished, and Rias looked glad that she didn't have to put up with him anymore. Maybe that's where she got her manipulative bitchy side from. They were greeted by a multitude of butlers and maids. After that, they all took a bath. Issei tried to peek, like usual, and Ryuga slapped him unconscious. Next, they all gathered in a room to discuss the training regime.
