You open your eyes, but nothing is shown. Darkness surrounds you, even shadows are non-existent. This feeling of perpetual darkness and loneliness makes your heartbeat quicker. You start to sweat from your forehead, as your breathing quickens. The frighting solitude and utter darkness confuse you. Under stress, you start to turn around, trying to find light, of course, to no avail. You feel your heart drop into your stomach. Where are you? How did you get here? Are you going to die here, alone, afraid, not being able to see anything? Seconds feel like hours, minutes days, but, of course, you know deep inside that it's only just begun.
You begin to dread the outcome of this. Starvation, dehydration, what will come first? You want to run, and you do. However, you've been running for what seems like hours. What's at the end? How far does this room go on? Where are you? Who... are you?
You begin to ask yourself these questions as you strain your eyes to peer into the darkness. You feel your face, just in case you're blindfolded. Naturally, nothing is covering your face. Surrounded by darkness, not knowing which way is out, up, or east, you begin to feel sick. You drop to your knees, not understanding what is happening anymore. Then it hits you. It's loud. Wait, no. It's silent. Or is it loud? Your confusion turns into frustration. What is it you hear?
It almost sounds like water rushing and a buzzing. Wait, it faded. Now it's back. What is this? What is causing you this confusion? Then you realize it. It's yourself. You can hear your own heartbeat, blood flowing, and brain struggling to keep its sanity. This is torture. Wait, no it's not. Yes, it is. Your thoughts begin to contradict themselves. You can't think rationally anymore.
How long have you been here? What were you doing before this? What WERE you doing before this? You can't remember. You don't even know who you are. You also didn't realize that you were crying, or is it laughter?
You grip onto your head whilst, sobbing, laughing, and dying. Who are you? Where did you come from? What is happening? Why can't you talk? Why can't you see? Why is it that whenever you move, you can only feel the floor. No walls, no ceiling, no furniture, just floor. Can you even feel the floor? You ask yourself this. You lie down on the "floor", but as soon as you do, you feel it move. Did you feel it move, or was it your imagination? How far and how many steps into insanity have you taken so far?
You're terrified, calm, angry, and depressed all at the same time. You just want someone to free you from this, what feels like, eternal torment. You try to call out, but you can't make any sound. You collapse on the ground, silently sobbing. Just when you think you're about to lose your grip on sanity and fall into nothingness, a voice reaches out to you, and a light is shining behind you.
???: "Oh, what do we have here?"
You turn around to see the most beautiful woman in the world. Her brunette hair accompanied by violet eyes grabs your attention. She is wearing a white dress, showing a bit of her cleavage, and wearing a set of violet necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. All you can do is stare at the beauty. She smiles gently at you and extends her hand. Before you take it, you hear her speak.
???: "Come with me, and I will show you what real horror looks like."
You hesitate upon hearing that. However, you believe she is an angel. No, she MUST be an angel. You take her hand, and as soon as you do, sixteen batlike wings sprout from her back. Her face morphs into one of malice. You scream, but no sound escapes. She starts to disappear into the darkness, and once again, you're swallowed up by darkness. However, you can still feel her hand. She's leading you somewhere, somewhere you know not of.
After what seemed like a few minutes of walking, you feel her stop.
???: "We are here. Our first destination in this dimension of horror named Yharnam. This is the room of ghouls. What are they? Well, you'll figure out soon enough."
