"[Y/N]," Enjolras said, immediately standing up the moment you walked in the room. "I heard yelling— what happened?"

"Nothing," you muttered, your hand shooting up so you could wipe your eyes— though, again, it was pointless. "It's just... It's stupid, that's all."

"I don't think it's stupid," Enjolras said, his eyebrows furrowing in the slightest. He was beyond stressed at the moment— and despite this, he wanted to make sure that you were alright. "Come here."

Before he held his arms out, you walked over and simply leaned against him, and he didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around you. He let out a soft sigh, and comfortingly, he rubbed your back.

You were quick to realize that you were, yet again, crying.

For a few moments, Enjolras just rocked you, trying to help calm you down if at all possible, and you let out the slightest bit of a chuckle as you noticed some of your makeup on his shirt.

"I'm so sorry— I'm a mess right now," you said, struggling to smile through the tears. "I got some makeup on your shoulder."

"Well... who knows? It might be stylish," Enjolras joked softly, his hand against the back of your neck. It was clear that he, too, was trying his hardest to keep you happy, almost as a way to keep himself distracted. He kept you close. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"Yeah..."

You and Enjolras did find yourselves in bed after a few moments, though neither of you fell asleep right away... and the moment you had, Enjolras was up again, hunched over his desk while trying to plan a way to assist Jehan.

He was still awake there by the time you woke up.

It was a little foreign waking up the next morning... Funny to think that, just yesterday, you had woken up by Timeo's side.

You noticed that Enjolras flinched the moment you began to stir.

"Morning," he muttered, massaging the bridge of his nose tiredly. "Did you sleep well?"

"Not really," you mumbled, turning over on your side to face Enjolras. "Your bed is quite nice, though— just... for obvious reasons..."

As you sat up, you felt that sinking feeling bubble in your stomach. That outburst with Courfeyrac was horrible.

"I can understand that," Enjolras nodded, leaning back in his seat. "We have an emergency meeting today— Grantaire came this morning and asked if I could call it for tonight."

"Grantaire came around?" you asked, sitting up a little...

Suddenly, the implication that you could have been sleeping with Enjolras seemed a lot less pleasant.

"Yeah," Enjolras said, running a hand through his hair and standing up. "My apologies for not having any clothes for you— your stay was a bit unexpected."

"It's alright," you said. "My dress is probably dry by now."

"Alright," Enjolras said. It was easy to see how tired he was— dark circles evident under his eyes, his face definitely more pale than usual. "I'll leave you to it, then."

Naturally, Enjolras made his way out of the room to leave you some privacy...

And this was the first time it really hit you that you were pregnant.

Of course, you had suspected it for a long while, but the confirmation from Joly made the reality of it sink in even more— and the fact that you even got just a moment to  glance down at your stomach made your heart sink...
