As soon as you and Combeferre were in private, he seemed a little concerned.
"Mademoiselle, can I trust that you won't say a word about me letting you stay at today's meeting?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowed a little as he let a few people pass behind him. "I know that many of the boys will forget about this occurrence by our next one, but... many of us could get in trouble if Enjolras found out."
"Of course," you said. "But why would you be in trouble?"
Combeferre went silent for a moment. However, you knew it was more because he was trying to word things correctly.
"Well... For lack of better description... Enjolras has what we like to call trust issues," he said. "And he wouldn't be particularly fond of finding out that we let a woman keep us company."
"Then I certainly won't say anything," you said.
"Thank you," Combeferre said, his libs breaking into a smile. "That was all."
Naturally, the both of you turned to go your separate ways, and you saw Courfeyrac, Grantaire, and Gavroche waiting for you.
Both Courfeyrac and Grantaire looked at you... and Gavroche just walked up to you
"Alright, [Y/N]," Gavroche said, grabbing your hand and beginning to lead you to the door. "Because both Courf and 'Taire was arguing over who should take you home, I'm just going to do it."
You were quick to stop walking.
Though Gavroche made wonderful company, he wouldn't be able to do much good if something came about.
"Wait— why don't they both come with?" you asked, glancing back at the both of them. "I don't mind the company."
Gavroche looked back to the pair, whose eyes were still wide with confusion, and looked back up to you.
"That might be smart."
He cleared his little throat and, after briefly letting go of your hand, marched up to the both of them and grabbed their hands.
"We're all going, now," Gavroche said. "Come on, we has to hurry and get [Y/N] home so she can rest."
"Actually... we both just agreed that Courfeyrac should go," Grantaire said. Courfeyrac looked quite shocked at the comment, but Grantaire didn't seem to notice much— he just let go of Gavroche's hand, flashed you a small smile, and headed to a seat.
"You'll come visit, though, right?" you asked. "It'll be lonely without my daily dose of laughter."
You saw Grantaire smile. After a moment of deliberation, his eyes flicking to Courfeyrac and then to you, he slowly nodded.
"Sure," he said, flashing a somewhat grateful smile. "Tomorrow alright?"
"Yeah," you nodded. "See you."
You turned back to the door, where Courfeyrac and Gavroche waited, and noticed that they were already prepared to leave.
"Alright, [Y/N]," Courfeyrac smiled, heading in front of you and Gavroche to hold the door open. "Are you ready to leave?"
After casting a quick glance at Grantaire (who was talking to Jehan at that point), you were quick to turn back to Courfeyrac.
"Naturally."
Courfeyrac flashed you a smile and placed his hand on the small of your back (not to be confused with the injured portion of your back, of course), and after escorting you outside, Gavroche looked up to Courfeyrac. The three of you walked for only a few moments before he gently tugged on Courfeyrac's shirt.
