Hatred Virus: A Different Ending

RoPo's POV:
I was in shock, I not only witnessed someone fade away, but it was a person who I looked up to! I immediately fell into depression, again, I blamed myself for everything. I kept scolding myself, I even slapped myself to give me that regret. I curled my legs closer to my body and put my head down in shame. I was crying, nothing made sense anymore.

"Why does it have to be me?! Why does my life consist of heartbreaking moments?! Why?!" I kept repeating the same sentences in guilt. What else was I suppose to do, I mean, I couldn't just die. I'd likely survive a fall from the tower down to the ground. I'd come out with a broken leg or something that would heal in a few days.

"Just, why is my life like this?!" I needed a change of course. Something to calm me down. The sun had set at that point, making my life more of a living nightmare. I took deep breaths and made my best attempt to calm myself before disaster. I didn't need more problems, but then...

It's dark, the time I strike, it was too late.

Leave me alone! I'm dealing with a lot right now!

I can't, I'm pretty sure that I'm you. Just face it RoPo, you can't contain me forever.

I will, I will and I won't let you control me!

Careful, don't want to make promises you can't keep, right?

(Laughs) You're stressing out. Anger isn't the only feeling that can give me control.

I assumed you knew, all negative emotions give me power now.

Interesting. I thought I was telling the truth, I guess not.

It's too late RoPo, you're now mine... I became powerless, I was getting weak. I couldn't fight his commands, it was too strong. I couldn't feel my body, I couldn't feel my soul...

"(Laughs) Finally, now to get back at them..."

Cap's POV:
We were walking to where the others were, Dawn had the idea to introduce herself to the rest. My guess to place her protection barrier on everyone. I still wonder how much power does she really have, but I didn't ask. I know Dawn will tell me when she's ready to share. She was tired anyway, I asked beforehand if she wanted to sleep before her meeting. She refused. We were approaching the door when we both heard a siren.

"Oh no, what's that?" Asked Dawn in a panic.

"An alarm, but for what?" The door slid open and we walked inside to see Jack struggling hard with something. Ashlyn and Alex were preparing for a battle.

"What's going on here?!"

"Well, you heard that alarm, right Cap?"

"Yes Jack, what was that? And why are you scared?"

"Hehe, well because... it's an alarm for potential .EXE's in the tower, hehe..." Jack had a more frightening look on his face. He began to sweat, most likely due to stress and anxiety.

"Well, we just need to know where the .EXE is, then we can kick it's ass," I said to help Jack.

"That's the gist Cap, we don't know where the .EXE is," said Ashlyn in response, "Somehow, this .EXE managed to glitch the system. There are red areas where they might be."

"That's not good," I said concerned, "We might have to split up. We can track the .EXE better this way."

"I'm up for anything," said Jack in fear as he grabbed his Iron Man suit, "Real quick: who's that?"

"Oh, she's..."

"Dawn."

"How did you know, Angel?"

"It's not my first time seeing her."

"Ok, now we can go. Ash can take the west wing, Alex do the north, I'll stay here with AJ. Cap, you can that the east wing."

"What about Dawn? I can't leave her here with fear."

"She can be with Angel and I. She'll be safe." We all nodded in agreement; the plan was to have everyone report back their findings. Once we have an actual location, we will all arrive at that place and try to cure the .EXE, "Ok, we can go n-"

"That won't be necessary, Jack." A voice appeared from the dark hallway. It was a deep, dark like voice. It had a familiar tone, and not in a good way. Dawn his behind me, everyone did. It was unexpected, Jack managed the courage to face the .EXE.

"We aren't here to harm you. If you don't fight, we won't fight, ok?" He said as she shook in fear.

"Heh, I can smell you fear. I can smell all your fears. There's no reason to hide, but there is a reason to run..." A gunshot was heard.

"Jack!" I yelled out, I pulled out my shield and threw it at the .EXE, to my surprise, it was who I'd least expect.

"Agh, you're going to wish you didn't do that!" He came running out of the shadows to reveal who he really was. In collision, we all attacked him with force. I ran to grab my shield but RoPo grabbed me by the arm and threw me to the lab table. Glass pierced my skin, it brought back terrible memories. I took a good few minutes of what I was seeing. Ashlyn had her hand amidst in flames and ran towards RoPo. She managed to give him a burn on his lower left arm. RoPo shot Ashlyn a few times, the bullets were dropped straight to the ground.

"Try harder," Ashlyn says to annoy him. In anger and pain, RoPo grabs Ashlyn the same way as me, throwing her out the window.

"Ashlyn!?" Screams Alex in worry, he runs his way to the door, punching RoPo a few times. He makes it out to see if Ashlyn is alright.

"RoPo, you need to stop! This isn't you!" I say to awaken him.

"(Laughs) I'm not stopping. I'm sorry Cap, but this is who I'm suppose to be. And if you can't agree with that... I'll just get rid of you," he said with the gun pointing at my heart.

"RoPo, please. Don't hurt him," said Dawn with fear, "I know you're better than this, please."

"Shut up!" Before he could pull the trigger, a repulser blast was heard and shot the gun out of RoPo's hands. He turned around with a growl. The remainder of us gasped in relief.

"Jack!" We all said in unison. He was able to put his suit before the bullet shot him. RoPo wasn't pleased, before long, he just appeared next to Jack. Towering over him he spoke,

"I've been waiting for this day for so long that I'm at the point to going insane. We're destined to destroy each other, my friend."

"That's not true," Jack responded seriously, "We're meant to be best friends. We're meant to help each other." RoPo laughed maniacally, Jack lost his courage, Dawn was loosing faith, I was loosing blood.

"It all comes full circle, there's no point in turning you into one of us, so I'll-" before RoPo could finish his sentence, he had been banged in the head with a metal pipe. We all looked up in surprise, it was Angel who hit him.

"What are you all staring at?! I wasn't letting someone like him hurt a friend." We got lucky.

Jack's POV:
I managed to get RoPo to the cell from earlier, AJ knocked him out badly. He was knocked out for hours. Since this happened before, were he went all crazy, .EXE, we knew we had to wait for RoPo to calm down.

"Thanks for saving my life, AJ."

"Jack, you apologize too many times now, one was enough."

"Yeah, how's everybody?"

"Well, I just ended up with a broken arm and Cap is better. Alex is with him," said Ashlyn, "What about RoPo? How's his condition?"

"Well, reading through his heart rate and memory wave, I've come to a conclusion."

"What?" Both Ash and AJ said.

"His condition is... oh. Oh no..."

"What?" They said again.

"The computer can't read his mentally."

"Why?"

"It only said, 'Error'..."
