the family businessTHE GROUP SAT in a little camp they made. They have a wire wrapped around tree's that went around them, and they had bottles and cans tied to them, so if a walker or someone was to ambush them, they would be heard. Also, Izzy and Daryl had set out bear traps, too.
And now, it was time for Izzy, Claire, and Jack to spill their secrets on how they knew what the wendigo's were.
"I know this will be a lot to take in, but..." she trailed off. "My brother's and I were raised as hunters, human vigilantes who investigate paranormal activities and hunt down supernatural creatures, entities, and beings after our mother died by the hands of a demon named Azazel."
"A demon?" Beth asked, her voice quivering slightly.
Isabelle nodded as her mind began to display flashbacks to all those years ago.
"After our father disappeared, Dean and I dragged Sam out of Standford," she said and lightly chuckled at their faces. "He wasn't all for the hunter lifestyle so one day, he took off and went to college." She shook her head as she remembered how angry her dad was over Sam running off. She remembered being so upset because Sam was her twin and it felt so weird without him.
"We then embarked on hunting quests across the country as we looked for our father, and also worked on cases involving other supernatural creatures. Along the way, we discovered that Sam had unusual abilities such as telekinesis and visions of the future, which we came to think is related to the demon we were hunting. It was, and we found out that Sam had demon blood in him because of a deal our mother made with a demon before we were even thought of."
"After we found our father, he made a deal with the same demon that killed our mother because he wanted to save Dean's life. You see, a demon her drove a Semi into the Impala — Dean's car — and we almost died. Dean had the worst of it all because he was in the passenger seat where the Semi hit the car."
"So... he sold his soul to save your brother?" Daryl questioned, his blue eyes staring intently at Izzy who barely wanted to meet anyone's gaze. She didn't want them to find out the way they did, actually, she didn't want them to find out at all. She wanted to protect them from her world of horror's. They already had enough to worry about. Plus, she was a little flustered by their kiss a couple of days ago.
"Yes," she simply said. "Uh... we continued to hunt down the yellow-eyed demon Azazel. And along the way, a part of Azazel's master plan was eventually revealed as he gathered Sam and others like him, leading to Sam's death."
"Wait... didn't you say that your brother's are still alive?" Sophia asked, her soft voice barely reaching the others ears.
"Because Dean, our oldest brother, made a deal with a crossroads demon to resurrect Sam in exchange for his soul, which would be collected in one year. In a final confrontation, in which Dean killed Azazel with The Colt which was a supernatural killing gun, a gate is opened, releasing hundreds of demons from Hell. All the while, Dean is still on a tight schedule with his deal. From there on, there was a lot of shit thrown at us. We continued to sacrifice ourselves for each other, leading up to now."
A silence followed after Isabelle's explanation. Yes, she skipped a whole bunch of stuff, but they certainly did not need to know every living moment of her and her brother's lives.
"Is Chupacabra's real?"
Izzy snapped her head towards him with a wide eyed confused look. After a second of just looking at him incredulously, she cleared her throat. "Yes, and they're ugly little things."
Daryl grunted and nodded at her answer, rubbing his scruff. He also felt a little flustered due his kiss with her was his first ever kiss, and seeing the way she was right now, it kind of broke his heart a little.
"So, you're like a ghost buster?" Sophia asked, leaning forward with excitement shining in her forest green eyes.
Izzy grinned slightly. "Yes, but way better." She leaned over and ruffled he thirteen year old's hair. "My family's motto is; saving people, hunting things, the family business."
"What else is real?" Beth asked, wrapping her arms around her waist, glancing at Jack and Claire.
"Vampires, werewolves, ghosts, demons, angels—"
"Angels are real?!" Beth interrupted, looking like a kid on Christmas morning.
Izzy glanced over at Jack before nodding. "Actually, we have a friend that is an angel. His name is Castiel." She then gave a questioning look to Jack and he sent her a small smile. "Jack is, uh... a Nephilim. Part angel and human. Though, his grace got taken away from him, so he's just a regular human now."
"How'd it get taken away?" Beth asked, looking at a sad looking Jack with soft blue eyes.
"My father," he simply told her, giving her a smile to show her that he was fine now.
"And what's your story, Claire?" Sophia asked, looking to the older blonde who was very protective of her. Claire has always wanted a little brother or sister, and she saw Sophia as a little sister.
Claire cleared her throat, looking uncomfortable. She might've been with these people for a few months, but, she still wasn't comfortable enough to tell them her story. "My dad was taken over by Castiel, my mom ran off, leaving me on my own. I had to figure out things on my own."
"All of us hunter's have a story on how we started," Izzy spoke up, giving Claire a soft caring look as the nineteen year old let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
"We should probably gather our things and get a move on," Daryl stated after a moment of silence. "We've been here for too long."
They packed up their things and began to move on to their next stop.
And the hunter's knew the other's were just beginning with their question's.
