they say you can't protect your loved ones forever. well, i say screw that. what else is family forTHE SUN HAD rose about over a couple of hours ago, but most of the people just stayed in the barn and tried to get as much rest as they possibly could, knowing that they'll have to be back on their feet sooner than they would like.
Isabelle sat in the back of the barn, her eyes drooping and her muscles sore as could be, but she made sure to not even get a blink of rest in. She wanted to make sure that nothing else would happen that would put her group — her family in risk.
Her mind replayed the scene from last night — a huge storm had past by, bringing high winds strong enough to knock over trees and walker's banging on the doors.
It was a miracle they were even still there, a miracle the barn hadn't been lifted away with the high winds and the tree's hitting it.
Once everyone realized it was safe once the winds calmed down, they all went to sleep. Though, Izzy stayed up, and she watched out for those who did go to sleep. Beth had fallen asleep beside her, her head on her shoulder, and blonde hair splayed out everywhere. Jack had his head rested on her lap while Sophia curled up to him. And Claire was on the otherside of Beth, her head resting in the younger blonde's lap. They were all basically cuddling, but she didn't mind seeing as they were low on blankets, and the only way to stay warm was to be by each other.
Meg and Castiel were sleeping with their heads leaning on another, his trench coat draped over her shoulders. And Crowley was off to the side by his own little fire seeing as he didn't want to share with anyone.
It was a little while ago when Maggie and Sasha went out to see the damage that was made, and to get some fresh hair, and Izzy was beginning to worry.
But, that worry went away as soon as the barn doors were opened.
"Guys," Maggie gained everyone's attention and cleared her throat. "I have someone here who wishes to talk to us," she said cautiously, and everyone quickly turned their attention on her. "His name in Aaron," she said, opening the door wide enough to show off a man. He was small built, dark blonde hair, and a small smile on his face.
As soon as everyone placed their eyes on Aaron, their guns rose in the air, each barrel pointed at the stranger.
Izzy quickly woke the kids up and pushed them behind her, even though he didn't look harmful, but looks can be deceiving. Izzy knows that from experience.
Maggie stepper forward and handed a handgun to Rick. He checked it to find it full. "There's something you need?"
"He has a camp, nearby. He wants us to audition for membership," Maggie informed the leader, glancing over at Izzy who approached Rick's side, checking to make sure the kids were still in the back. She smiled once she realized that Castiel, Meg, and Crowley was also guarding them.
Aaron lowly chuckled. "I wish there was another word. Audition makes it sound like we're some kind of a dance troupe. That's only on Friday nights." He smiled and chuckled, but the group stood there with blank faces. "Um, and it's not a camp. It's a community. I think you all would make valuable additions." He looked around at everyone. "But it's not my call. My job is to convince you all to follow me back home." He paused. "I know. If I were you, I wouldn't go either. Not until I knew exactly what I was getting into." He looked right at Rick, "Sasha, can you hand Rick my pack?" She obliged. "Front pocket, there's an envelope. There's no way I could convince you to come with me just by talking about our community."
"Give me," she demanded and Rick handed the pictures over at the Winchester who looked through them, humming and nodding. It looked real and it looked like a safe place.
She nodded towards Rick and the man knew exactly what she wanted him to do. He marched up to Aaron and slugged him hard across the face, knocking him out.
"Tie him up and we'll discuss this."
IZZY SIGHED, glancing back at the kids who were curled up together, straying from Aaron. Though, Jack wanted to help the poor man.
"It looks believable, Rick," Izzy told him, running a hand down his face. "And I know this is a huge risk, and it's stupid, but... we have to go."
"Hold on a minute," Abraham said, marching up to her. "We don't know this man! And you just had Rick knock him out, yet you trust him?!"
Izzy snarled, balling her hands into fists. "Those photos, those very believing photo's tell me that what he's talking about is reliable. And yes, they might be old or edited, or whatever, but we have to check it out. If we don't, we'll regret it."
"We'll probably be killed there!" Abraham shouted, throwing a hand up in anger and frustration.
"And we could die here!" She shouted right back at him. "We barely have any food or water!" She pointed a finger at him. "Unless you have some better idea, then go ahead, say it! But, if we don't act now, we'll all die here!"
"This yelling isn't helping anybody!" Beth shouted, walking over to the group. Sophia, Jack, and Claire trialing behind her. They all had been conversing together, and if Izzy thought the place had to be given a chance, they stood behind her decision. "We have to decide what we're going to do, and we stand behind Izzy."
Izzy smiled as she looked over at them, and they were joined by Crowley, Meg, and Castiel who nodded at her in agreement.
"It could be dangerous," Rick stated, running a hand down face and then turned to stare Izzy in the eyes. "But, if you say we give this guy, this place, a chance, I say we take it. I trust you."
"Me too," Daryl grunted out.
Isabelle smiled at them and turned to look at Aaron who was slowly waking up.
She turned back towards Rick and kissed his cheek. "Thank you for trusting me." She then turned to Daryl. "Both of you." She saw him narrow his eyes slightly at her and Rick before she distracted him with a kiss to the cheek as well.
She walked away from them and towards Aaron, squatting down to be at his eye level. "I am sorry about that." She gestured to the bruise that was growing on his jaw. "I truly am." She sighed and looked him in the eyes. "I know we had a terrible first introduction, but, hi, I'm Isabelle. And we agree to join your group."
