ROMAN...
Two weeks had past since I left the hospital and I was feeling better, way better actually. Something within me wanted to get back to my normal life. Normal? I laughed at the thought of that. Nothing was normal at all since I lost my memory of my past life but I was trying to make it possible with the help of my supportive family and best friend.
I had constantly tried to pressure my dad to let me get back to work but he wouldn't let me with the excuse of me still recovering. It was now two weeks later and I wasn't about to take no for an answer from him.
"Fine, If you really do feel okay....I guess you can get back to work," he eventually gave in.
I smiled at him nodding my head. I was more than excited to get back to my job.
"You just need to fill me in on what I am supposed to do seeing I don't remember a thing," I joked and he smiled back at me.
He led me to his study where he briefed me on all my responsibilities at the company. After what seemed an hour long conversation with him, I left to get ready to leave for work. He offered to drop me off and I agreed. I had earlier on taken a shower right after I woke up so all that was left to do was for me to dress up. I took a look in to my closet where hang lines of exquisite and stylish suits. I was in awe. I pulled out a grey suit and took my time to look at it imagining what I would like in it before deciding to pick another. My eyes finally landed on a black laid back suit. At first glance, it spoke to me and I immediately knew it was the one I should wear.
I met my father downstairs in the living room and we left together for work. At the office, everyone greeted me and showed me a high amount of respect I felt I didn't need. I smiled at the employees while they greeted me but something about their reactions was surprising.
"Mr. Roman," a young gentle man in his early twenties I suppose, greeted me while handing me a cup of coffee.
"Good morning," I greeted him and for a moment he stared at me as if in shock. I looked at him with a look that said, did someone forget how to respond to a good morning greeting, and with that he snapped out of his daze and replied kindly. I took the cup from him and with the instructions from my dad, he led me to my office.
The office was more than I imagined it to be. A balcony with the best view of the city ahead of it captured my attention first when I entered. I took a seat behind the large desk and savored the moment. This all felt so good to be true. The young gentle man who I eventually learned was my assistant led himself out of the office, shutting the door behind him.

"Thank you all for being here today. I know it was short notice but it was urgent," my dad spoke to the rest of us in the conference room.
"As you have all heard, we are having a financial crisis....," he continued as we all listened attentively. "And I have heard some of you are planning to sell away your shares but that's not necessary....my son and I are dealing with the issue accordingly....no need for panic and making rush decisions,"
After my father ended the meeting, I followed him to my office on his request. I had so many questions to ask him myself. What was the solution him and I had come up with to avert the company problem. During my conversation with him, he endlessly dodged answering my question and it was frustrating me.
"You still don't think am ready to be back to work, do you?" I asked him frustrated.
"It's not that. You are ready son, more than ready but....."
"But what? Don't even say it,"
"Let me speak, okay?... when I, as your father feel it's the right time, I will fill you in on everything but for now you don't need that much stress and burden,"
I didn't push him any further and we changed the subject right after. Later that day, Carter and I hang out at a fancy bar in town. He claimed it was my favorite bar but I felt it was too expensive for my liking. Oh well, what did I know about my old self.
