On The Road Part 4

While Lou had been having the time of her life on this road trip, she was missing her other half. Mornings were completely different now that she wasn't waking up with Deb beside her. Even though most mornings she woke alone, there was at least some, if not a lot, of evidence the brunette goddess had been there. She missed the smell of Deb's hand lotion and how every time she turned in the night, Deb's hair somehow ended up in her face. She was so domestic for Deb, but she didn't care. They had spent too long apart to worry about whatever anyone else thought. She was happy it was the last leg of her trip. She had 1 week to get down to Santa Monica and she even thought about getting there early. Her bones were aching to be next to the person who gave her life, but she knew Deb would be furious if she got there before her.

Driving down the west coast had always been a dream of hers. So while she did miss Deb, she was going to take the week and experience this for all it was. Seattle, Washington was the first stop on her trip. She stopped by Pike's Market to get the full experience, watched them toss the fish and ate some fish and bought some fresh produce to snack on later. She went to the first Starbucks and took pictures for Amita, as she could not function without at least 2 trips to Starbucks a day. Harry was working on that with her, but so far he had been having no luck.

Lou-> Amita: *Don't kill me okay, but I just had to visit.* Not even a minute later she got a response.

Amita-> Lou: *YOU LUCKY BITCH!!! SEND ME SOME!! HARRY HASN'T LET ME HAVE ANY SINCE THIS MORNING.* Lou just laughed at her phone and could totally picture the conversations they were having because every once and a while it was her encouraging Amita to lay off the caffeine.

The next stop was the Space Needle.  Being at the top of what seemed like the world was a good feeling. The cool summer breeze was comforting as her mind began to wander. She felt in control for the first time in a long time. Lou had everything she could ever want and more. Even though the whole Danny situation loomed over her, she still had a grasp on what was going to be happening in the near future and even a sneak peek into the far future. Watching the sun go down over Elliot Bay was a sight she could watch forever. She took a picture before it dipped into the bay and sent a message to Deb.

Lou-> JLBRD: *Just a few more days until we get to watch the sunset go down every day together.* She looked down and waited for the little 'read' thing to pop up before she headed down and started on her journey down the state where she'd stop and stay in Portland for the night. While she wasn't too keen on driving that long in the dark, she also figured it may be a little harder for Giancarlo to find her. So far she hadn't seen him since she left Canada, but that didn't mean he wasn't near. If he was trying to prove himself, there was no telling what lengths he'd go to.

The next morning was a casual one, Lou didn't plan on staying too long in Oregon. She made a list of a few towns she was planning on spending a good hour in just to stretch her legs, but her main leg of this trip was going to be spent coasting down California on highway 1. The thought of the feeling that ocean breeze against her body as she speeds down sent a wave of calmness only second to the feeling Deb gave her.

But before she could start heading that way, there was this donut place Amita and Constance raved about and told her she had to experience for herself. So she made it a point to stop there for breakfast, so nutritional.

When she got there she was met with a line she was not expecting. It wrapped around the brick building. She sighed and thought about just going to a normal doughnut shop so she could get on the road, but she decided against it. Lou remembered that this leg of the trip was what was the most important and she needed to enjoy the processes despite her soul aching to be back where the other half of it lived.
