A Month Later

"Why do we even need this stupid holiday?"

"For rubbing what I don't have in my face."

Mar and I record a quick video to promote our "Single On Valentine's Day" music video.

I couldn't be more excited and proud, we released a new single a couple of days ago and it's getting so much positive feedback.

I mean who can't relate about being single on a day that is meant for couples?

"What are we doing today?" Sammy asked as she walks in the kitchen wearing a pastel blue hoodie from our old collection that I designed with Sky's help. It matches her bright eyes so well, she looks like an angel.

We discussed this yesterday but didn't get anywhere with a final plan. Mar is going out with Jay, most of our friends are doing something today and Sammy and I don't want to stay home moping around and possibly crying, thinking about crushes, exes, the mess that our love lives are.

"We should go on a road trip. Drive somewhere nice and calm, we can take the jeep, have a picnic and just relax." I suggest while munching on some cereal.

"That's actually a good idea." Sam's big blue eyes, with emerald spots, light up and she immediately gets excited.

"When are you leaving then?" Mar questions while sitting opposite from me at the table.

"I don't know, we still have to speak to Jake and whoever wants to come."

Sam starts texting our friend group, after some minutes of debating times and places we get a final agreement.

So it's Sammy, Jake, Ryan, Kallen and I.

We really don't have that many close friends here in LA and the ones we would also like to invite, are all in relationships and busy today.

That's actually good, sometimes less is more.

"We have to get lots of food!" Sam exclaims and runs towards the cabinets to check inside.

"Jake is going to pick up the guys and they're going shopping. Do we need anything specific?" I ask Sam after getting a message from Jake.

"The candy he knows I like, bags and more bags of chips, drinks, cups, uhm, I don't know, tell them to surprise us." She shrugs and starts running upstairs. "I need help choosing an outfit!"

"Well, so do I. Girls, I'm going on a date! It's not every day this happens to me, I need help!" Mar jumps in the conversation.

"Aren't you gonna wear that black dress you bought last month?" I ask her while dismissing Jake, telling him he's in charge of the food.

"I don't know if it's too much."

"Well, as you said, this doesn't happen every day so it's always better to overdress. Plus, you were worried about this being a real date he's taking you on, the right dress can make it a date."

"You're right! I love you, Maggie! Now go get ready." Mar taps my butt to send me away towards the stairs.

Now, what should I wear? It has to be comfortable, but good enough be in pictures, in case we take some. Red? Blue? Not black, I wear that every day. I wanna show that I'm okay being single.
