[Maggie's POV]•••
Should I call him?
What if he's with her?
I can't just expect him to be alone on this day, he probably went out with her somewhere.
Should I try?
"Stop looking at the sky like that, just call him." Sammy throws a pillow that we brought at me.
How did she-
It doesn't matter, I should just call. I don't like texting anyways.
I get down from the hood of the jeep where Sammy and I were laying, looking at the stars. It's February, the sunset about 30 minutes ago, very early. It's now just past 6 pm and the stars are shining bright. I walk over to the place where we sat just an hour ago and search for Shawn's contact.
It's ringing. He's probably busy.
While I hope and wait for Shawn to pick up the phone I look over to see the boys talking to each other and a couple of red lights, which means they're smoking. I get the vice. The addiction to nicotine.
It's amazing to me how we see the stars every night and we imagine them as something they're not. Also the moon, it's incredible how sometimes she seems so close to us but we know she's so far away. I miss talking to the starts, maybe I'll do it later. They're my best friends. I used to wish and confide in them, think about other people and ask the starts for favours because I knew those people were under the same exact stars as me.
"Hello?" A somewhat raspy and yet sweet voice breaks the silence of the night.
"Oh hi!" I choke out.
"You sound surprised but you were the one who called me." He chuckles into the phone and that immediately puts a smile on my face.
"Uhm yeah, I just didn't really think you would answer."
"Why wouldn't I?"
"You never told me if you were busy so I just kind of assumed you were." I sound stupid, if you thought he was busy why would you call him? Idiot. I facepalm myself.
"I'm really not actually." His chuckle is heard once again what seems to ease my nerves. "I just stayed home and went down to the studio to relax a bit. I was going to go out with the guys but decided against it last minute."
"You overwork yourself, but I get it. You needed music to put your emotions out, I totally understand, sometimes we just need to write it down before we explode, especially on days like this. Love all around and stuff I guess."
"Wow. You really do understand me huh? You're right, I just have a lot on my mind. What about you? What are you doing?" He changes topics.
"I'm somewhere. I don't really know where but it's beautiful here. It's like a big camp with flowers all over and trees and it's amazing such an escape place, I have to bring you here. I came here with my single friends and we talked a lot about lots of stuff and we sang, Sammy brought her ukulele, it was just fun and a way to not think about how sad I actually am. Now we were looking at the stars and talking more about love and whatnot. Sorry, I'm rambling."
I got so excited about telling him about this place that I just forgot to stop, I guess. I'm glad he can't see but I'm pretty sure I'm blushing with embarrassment.
I hear him laugh a little and I can just see, in my mind, his gorgeous hypnotizing smile. The way his eyes crinkle combined with the angelic sound coming out of his mouth, it's just heartwarming when he laughs.
