"When did you fall for him?" Aspen asked.
"Not long after I met him. I had this big plan on moving home, so I pushed it out of my mind. Then Kade came along and I knew I still loved him. Kade was on my mind the whole time I was away. I think that's the reason I didn't realize it before. Then after Kade and Tabby...Gauge kissed me and I couldn't ignore it anymore. I'm in love with them both. How fucked up is that?" I cried into Aspen's shoulder.
"It happen's. About Kade and Tabby..."
"I know. Gauge told me." I said interrupting her.
"When?"
"Before we..." I paused pointing toward Kade's phone.
"What are you going to do?"
"Gauge doesn't want a relationship until he quits being a cop. He won't quit until Blaze is locked up for good. That could take years. That was the only time we were together. It felt like an unspoken good bye. And Kade... I'm pretty sure I ruined anything there." I explained with a heavy heart.
"Are you alright?" Gauge asked leading the officers into my house.
"I thought something happened to you!" I said running to him throwing my arms around his neck.
"I'm fine." He said hugging me back.
"You're bleeding!" I said examining his arm.
"It's just a scratch." He said.
"Did you see who it was?" The officer asked.
"No it was dark. I chased them half a mile through the woods and lost them. Then I heard a vehicle start up."
We gave the cops details of the night. They wrote everything down and said they would drive around and look. Aspen, Cameron, and Zander were talking with Gauge on what we needed to do to turn my place into Fort Knox. I couldn't help but worry about Kade who refused to come in.
"You need to go talk to him." Gauge whispered to me. I took his advice.
Kade was sitting on my front porch with his head in his hands. At first I thought he was asleep, but then he began rubbing his face.
"Kade?" I said softly. He immediately began whipping his eyes. "Can I talk to you?"
He didn't say anything. He just scooted over to make room for me to sit.
"I'm sorry you had to find out this way. I didn't do it to hurt you."
"Here. I can't stand seeing you wear his shirt." Kade said handing me the flannel shirt he had been wearing as a thin jacket.
"I'm sorry I hurt you. I didn't do it out of spite."
"You wouldn't even give me a chance to explain myself before jumping into bed with him. I guess you used to fuck him to before you came home?" He threw in my face.
"Stop. I know your hurt but it doesn't give you any right to talk to me like this on my own porch." I said trying not to get to mad or upset. "We weren't together when this happened."
"Do you love him? Or is this just how you are when you're single?"
"Kade. Yes, I love both of you. I didn't mean for this happen. I started having feeling for him not long after I met him. Back when I thought you were getting married and starting a family. I didn't do this to hurt you, I swear."
