If you haven't read the first part to this, I suggest you read it before reading this so it'll make sense.

3 months later

Mike was trying to get his life back the way it was. In fact, all the monkees were trying to get back to a normal life. Peter was scared of everyone who came to the door whether it was to do an interview with them or if it was a friend of one of the other guys just stopping by.

Davy and Micky were practically back to their old selves. Micky had gotten his hyperness back and Davy, well, he was himself. Falling in love with girls was still a main thing for this young english boy.

However, Mike had been sleeping a lot more. Way more than usual. He kept claiming that it was probably due to stress from their gigs but the other 3 knew better than to believe that. It was much more than that. No one could figure it out though.

Why was Mike so tired all the time? He sleeps practically all day, waking up at 1 or 2 in the afternoon.

So far, only 2 monkees went back to their old selves and 2 hadn't yet. Now, it's up to Davy and Micky to see what they can do to help both Peter and Mike get through whatever they are going through.

Micky and Davy had been talking downstairs about the other boys while the other two were in their rooms.

"Ey, is there a way we could 'elp them Micky?"

"I dont know. I wish there was. See, Mike hides the fact that he stays up late. He tosses and turns throughout the entire night. This happens every night too. It's as if the best sleep he gets is when the sun comes out and its morning outside. What about Peter?"

"Petah got a little better at sleeping. Although he thinks someone is going to go after 'em in his sleep. I keep telling 'em that everything's fine and nothing is going to happen to him."

"Yeah. I had to go through the same thing with Mike. He can't trust anyone anymore. The only people he trusts is the 3 of us. That's it."

"Well, he and Petah both went through quite the ordeal. Give it a little more time. Maybe, just maybe they will get back to their old selves."

Peter exited his bedroom and he saw Micky and Davy just sitting around on the couch talking. "Hey guys."

"Hey Pete. You alright this afternoon?" Micky asked out of concern.

"Yeah. Why do you ask?"

"No reason. Say, wanna do something with me and Davy today?"

Peter's face lit up. "Yeah. What do you have in mind?"

"Not sure yet. We could go to the beach."

"Peter shook his head.

"Okay. How about..............bowling?"

"Nah. I honestly don't feel like being around people."

"Petah, it's been 3 months. The guys are in prison. They aren't coming after anyone here."

"How do you know that? They could break out and try to get to us."

"Look, they aren't going to break out. Now, Where's that old Petah me and Micky used to know?"

Peter tried to put on a fake smile. Davy knew better than to believe it was real.

"Come on. Stop worrying. Nothin' bad is going to happen."

"Okay." Peter nodded. "Can we go to the beach?"

"Yeah. First, let me see if Mike is up. The question now arises........How will we get his old self back?"

"That's a very good question." Davy responded not even knowing the answer to that.

"Well, I might as well wake him up to see if he wants to go with us."

Micky walked upstairs and he quietly walked over to Mike's bed then shook his shoulder gently.

"Can I help you?" Micky heard Mike's deep voice say under a pillow.

"Yeah. Sorry for waking you but we were wondering if you wanna go to the beach with us."

"I'll think about it."

"We were gonna go in a few minutes."

"I might join you later. Let me sleep!" Mike mumbled. It was barely audible but Micky understood what he said.

"Sorry Mike. Get some sleep."

Micky walked back downstairs shaking his head. "No luck. He said he might join us later. All he wants to so is sleep now. If he doesn't get out if bed by 1, I'm gonna literally drag him out and have a little chat with him myself."

"Okay. Let's go to the beach."

The three monkees took off to the beach leaving Mike alone in the house. He was awake but he didn't feel like getting out of bed yet.

It took about an hour to get fully out of bed and he sat up and looked at his watch. The time was 12:45. He hated sleeping in that late. But he can't help it. He cant get sleep at night. Only in the mornings.

Mike let out a sigh. He rubbed his shoulder. It still gives him problems since he got shot by Babyface.

He cannot forget what happened to himself and Peter. He looked down at his wrists and they were all scared up from the chains digging into his skin.

Mike had way too much going through his mind right now. He shut his eyes. But when he did, memories from that one specific night 9 months ago came back to him. Watching someone hold a gun to someone else's head, him pulling the trigger. That gunshot only made him jump even though it happened 9 months ago.

He wanted to just forget all about it. But it was hard to. His friends couldn't understand why he was so down all the time. He knew exactly why. He also knew he hasn't been himself since it all happened.

Mike heard the back door open and heard the voices of his friends returning from the beach. He heard Micky walking up  the metal staircase and then walk into the bedroom. "Hey. Its good to see your awake Mike."

"Been up for the past 10 minutes."

"Why haven't you made it downstairs yet?"

"Been thinkin' Let me get change out of my pajamas and into regular clothes then I will head downstairs alright?"

"Okay. But I dont wanna have to come back up here in 10 minutes only to realize you fell back asleep."

"I'm not going to fall back asleep."

"Alright." Micky sounded very unsure as he left. He walked downstairs.

"He was already up when I went up there. He will be down soon. Well, thats what he says."
