The Monkees Part 2

Chapter 15

Its like they can never get a break. Mike did know they were going to be back in the same woods to continue their search!

Mike pushed Peter in front of himself as they both continued to run. They heard one guy yell out to them saying: "You know boys, Its alot more fun to chase you guys before you are killed off! It gives us more of a challenge!"

Peter was about to yell back when Mike slammed his hand on Peter's mouth to keep him quiet as they silently ran. "Keep quiet Pete. We don't want them finding us."

They both had finally ran out of hearing view of the guy that constantly shouted and as they ran, Mike kept turning around to see if he could see them anywhere. Then he literally ran into someone without paying attention to what was in front of him. Mike and the other guy tumbled down.

"Hey buddy! Watch it!!" The other guy said in a very angry voice.

Peter ran up to Mike and grabbed his arm and helped him up. Mike took a step back not wanting to trust the guy he ran into. "Who are you?" When Mike asked, his voice was shaky and it sounded a bit terrified.

"Bill Gomez. You alright?" Bill asked as he saw the look on Mike's face. It was the look of distrust.

"Uh, yeah. Yeah. I'm fine."

"May I ask who you two are and what you were running from?"

Peter spoke up: "I'm Peter Tork and this is my very good friend Mike Nesmith. Some guys are trying to kill us. We are trying to get away. We did once already but they found us again."

"I can tell you aren't lying because of you're friend. He looked startled when he saw me. I assure you, you can trust me. I got a campsite right up here. Me and my buddies are on a camping trip. Come on."

"How do I know we can trust you? The last person we began to trust, hit both of us over the side of the head and knocked us both out and put us in the trunk of his car." Mike said as startled as ever.

"Look, I'll prove it to you. Follow me."

"Okay. But you're staying in front of us the whole time." Mike said still a bit worried that this might be another mistake.

Bill nodded in agreement and Mike and Peter began to follow him. 5 minutes later, they arrived at the campsite. There were 3 other men there sitting around eating some barbeque that they had cooked up a few minutes ago.

"Hey Bill. Where have you been? We cooked lunch." The one seated on the left said. Then he pointed over to Peter and Mike and asked: "Uh, who are they?"

"Josh, Mark, Carlos, this is Peter and Mike. They need our help."

Mark looked very intimidating to the two monkees and he spoke with a very deep voice: "Our help? With what?"

"Some people are after them. They haven't told me why but it could be because they didn't want me in danger as well. It took them a bit to actually trust me when this one........" He pointed at Mike. "Ran into me........Literally."

"Wait, how do you know they are actually telling the truth Bill?"

"Because they actually looked scared when they saw me."

"Dude, I know I get scared at you every time I look at you're face Bill." Carlos said trying to joke around.

"Carlos this isn't funny. I can tell they aren't lying. We need to get them somewhere where these men won't find and kill them. Any ideas?"

"Wait, wait. Wouldn't that put all of us in danger though Bill?"

"Not if we say we don't know anything about any kids going by here. They might check our tents so we can't keep them here."
