It was about 5pm and Mike drove them all back to the pad. Davy and Peter jumped out of the MonkeeMobile and ended up running into each other.

"Ey Petah!" Davy said looking up at Peter who seemed to be smiling at him. "What?"

"Nothing!" Peter approached the front door to the pad.

"Petah, I don't trust that smile." Davy said truthfully walking slowly inside.

"Oh come on Davy. I can't smile?"

"Not when there's nothing to smile about Pete." Mike said softly hitting Peter on the side of the head.

"I'm just glad about being back home guys."

Micky and Mike both looked at each other. Then Mike said: "Ya know, I think Peter saw a girl somewhere in between our drives and stops. How did we not notice?"

"Uh, that's not true!" Peter denied in his defense.

"Sure its not true." Davy spoke up.

Peter had turned a dark shade of red when his friends were saying that. Of course, he did see a girl. But only from a distance away. She had beautiful long blonde wavy hair, perfectly shaped jawline, the whitest teeth, and the most prettiest smile he has ever seen.

Peter started smiling again. Just thinking about this girl made him smile. Great! Now he will never live this one down.

"There goes that smile again Peter." Micky said while smiling himself.

"I'm not smiling! Stop it!" Peter said turning around so no one could see his smile.

"So, who's the lucky girl Petah?"

"I never said hi to her." Peter just realized he gave himself away and he facepalmed.

"Ah-hah! So he did see a girl!" Micky said in a very characteristic voice.

"Ugh! Why do you guys have to do this to me?"

"Because its fun Peter." Mike said.

"What if I never see her again?"

"You will Peter." Micky tried to encourage Peter but for some reason, its alot harder than he thought.

"Yeah Pete."

"Well, I guess I could have hope." Peter began to smile again.

"Sure you can."

"Okay. Who's hungry?" Micky asked heading to  the kitchen.

"Micky, we ate 2 hours ago at the Vincent Van Gogh Gogh. How can you possibly be hungry again?" Mike asked.

"Not sure. I'm always hungry Mike."

"Of course you are. That's why we run out of food faster." Mike said teasing Micky.

Mike walked over to the refrigerator and pulled out the sandwich that Micky had made him earlier and began to unwrap the foil from it.

"You were just talkin' to me about eating food 2 hours ago and a few minutes later, you pull out that sandwich I made for you hours ago."

"Micky, I didn't get anything to eat. Remember?"

"Yeah. Mike did say he wasn't hungry when we went to the Vincent. Question is,why wasn't he hungry? That sandwich is the first thing I've seen him eat today." Davy said.

"Yeah Mike. What's up with that?"

"Well, I mean, I just wasn't hungry today."

"Mike, its 5pm."

"I know." Mike nodded not seeing what was wrong with this picture. "I'm eating now aren't I?"

"Yeah but its the first time you're eating today though."

Mike chomped down on the sandwich he was holding. "I know."

The others decided to drop the subject. They knew they weren't getting anywhere with Mike. He was too skinny as it is.

"Uh-huh. Just try to eat more tomorrow Mike." Davy said.

Mike sat down at the table where Micky was. Micky was eating a container of cashews.

"I'm going down to the beach if anyone wants to come with me." Peter said as he went into his room to change into his swim trunks.

Davy and Micky decided to go as well leaving Mike alone at the pad again. He didn't mind being alone. He actually liked it. He liked the silence and alone time when the guys went down to the beach. It has been a while since he went down with the guys but he didn't care.

He had alot of time to think. The guys brought up a very good question which was why he only ate once today. Even he didn't know. He started thinking. Maybe all this stress is getting to him. Heck, he didn't know. He just wanted to live a normal life just like he used to.

He actually thought about giving himself up to these goons that want him dead. Well, they wanted all the monkees dead but more so him because of what he has done to the people that went after them a while back. Mike was kind of obnoxious and sarcastic all at once, they practically wanted to kill him on the spot.

Mike hadn't realized he was tapping his fingers on the table and his head was propped up on his left hand. He was very deep in thought he hadn't noticed it had been several hours and the sun was going down. The guys had already come back and were just staring at him wondering why he was so deep in thought.

"Mike?" Micky questioned.

No response.

"Mike?" Davy said a few minutes after Micky had.

Peter approached Mike and waved his hand in front of his face. "MIKE?!" Peter practically yelled.

"Huh? What?" Mike snapped out of his trance and he saw the others just staring at him.

"What happened there Mike? Where'd you go?" Micky said approaching him.

"Nothin'. I was just deep in thought." Mike said trying not to say what was going on.

"Mind telling us what you were thinkin' about?"

"Nah. Maybe later. What are you guys doing back so soon? Its only been a few minutes."

"Mike, its been 4 hours. I wouldn't nessesarily say thats only a few minutes." Mike's eyes grew wide as he looked at his watch and noticed that it turned out to be 9pm. He hadn't noticed it was that late."

"Oh well. Sorry guys. I just didn't hear you guys come in." Mike had a confused look on his face. He had finally looked down at his fingers and he realized he was tapping his fingers and he made himself stop.

Somewhere in the distance

Man #1: "Once they are asleep, we take them by surprise."

Man #2: "Which ones are we taking?"

Man #1: "The kid with the strange hat on his head who is named Michael and the one with the light brown hair named Peter."

Man #2: "How will we get these 2 without waking everyone else up?"

Man #1: "Well, remember how we got that other one, the one named Micky?"

Man #2: "Yeah. I do have a question. If we wanted Michael, why didn't we take him then instead of the other one?"

Man #1: "I haven't got the slightest idea why. But now, we can get both of the ones we want."
