Davy just stared at the barrel of the gun with wide eyes. "Now, I'm not going to ask you again boys. Where are you're friends?"

"Listen, we already told you we won't give them up no matter what you try to do to us. You could torture us, or even shoot us. We will never tell you where they are." Micky said in defense.

"Well, in that case........" He pointed the gun at Davy and Micky stepped in the way so he wouldn't shoot Davy.

"Don't shoot him. Shoot me."

"Micky! What are you doing?" Davy began to question.

"Look, Davy, I'm not going to let you get sh------" They both heard a shot and a bullet entered Micky's chest as he flew back and landed hard on the ground.

"MICKY!" Davy ran up to Micky who was in alot of pain. He was holding his chest as it bled perfusely.

"Now, I can finally say, I believed you from the beginning about you not knowing where you're buddies are. I just wanted one of you to get shot. Preferably you Mr. Jones but I only had one bullet on me so, maybe next time." He got up and walked away.

"Micky? Micky. Come on buddy." Davy said as he shook Micky's shoulder.

"Don't do that Davy." Micky said as he winced in pain.

"Sorry. I'll go get some help"

As Davy left, Micky laid back in the sand and decided not to concentrate on being shot even though it was killing him.

Davy came back a few minutes later and said: "Help is on the way. You alright?"

"Yeah." Micky lied to Davy. "How long til help arrives?"

"I don't know. They didn't give me an estimate on the time. I would say maybe about 10 minutes. Listen Micky,  you should never have jumped in front of me like that."

"I had to Davy. I couldn't let them take you away as well."

"Look Micky, now you are going to have to spend alot of time in the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound to the chest." Davy said as he took off his shirt and applied pressure to the wound.

"I would literally take a bullet for any one of you Davy. Including Mike and Peter."

"And that you did Micky."

"Yeah."

Davy was now trying to keep Micky talking so he could stay awake. He looked at Micky and Davy knew that he was tired and wanted to sleep but he also knew that he shouldn't let him.

"Look man, you'll be fine alright."

"I'm tired Davy." Micky said as he tried closing his eyes but he was awoken again by Davy.

"Micky, you can't go to sleep now. Pretty soon you can alright. Just wait a little while longer."

"I'll try Davy." Micky's voice was now soft and low, almost a whisper.

Davy looked up as help arrived.

"Sir, I need you to move away from him. We will take good care of you're friend here. Trust us."

Davy took a step back as the medics worked on Micky. They were talking in the medical language that Davy never understood. Seriously, why couldn't they talk in english like normal people?

They had put Micky on a gurney and a cop approached Davy to ask him some questions. "Sir, can you tell me what happened this evening?"

Davy looked at the officer: "Well, some guy by the name of Gary Martins shot my friend because he couldn't shoot me. Micky stepped in the way of the bullet."

"So, you're friend saved you're life. Is that correct?"

"Yeah. Look, I need to get to the hospital officer. I want to make sure Micky is going to be okay."

"That's understandable. What's you're name? I never got it."

"Uh, David. David Jones."

"Okay Mr. Jones, I do know the guy you're talking about. Gary Martins. We have been trying to get him and his men for quite some time now. Tell me, why would he be after you boys?"

"Because he wants our other friends who are in the Witness Protection Program. He tried to get us to say where they are but luckily, me and Micky have no clue where they are located."

The officer glared at Davy. He knew that sooner or later, Davy's other friends would have to be relocated because they were found by the men trying to kill them.

"Okay, listen, we might have to relocate you're friends. If this guy is looking for them, he WILL find them. No doubt about that."

"Wait, so they aren't safe anywhere? Then why are they in the Program if they aren't safe?"

"It'll be hard trying to find you're friends. That's what we want. We want it to be extremely hard. It'll take some time before you're friends are found but they will be relocated by then."

"Okay. Now can I go see how Micky is?"

"Of course. If I have any more questions, I'll just drop by the hospital."

Peter was reading the newspaper when he spotted the story on Micky getting shot but it didn't dawn on him. All he saw was a picture of some paramedics working on some guy at a beach.

"Hey Mike, someone was shot back home at a beach."

"Does it say a name at all?"

Peter skimmed the story. He finally found Davy's name. "I don't see it but Davy was mentioned a few times." He skimmed further down and finally found the victim's name and he frowned when he saw it. Peter glanced up at Mike and then back down at the newspaper.

"What?"

"It was Micky."

"Wait, say that again cause I thought you said it was Micky."

"No Mike, it really was Micky who was shot."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive. Its written here in black and white."

"Come on."

"Where are we going?"

"We are going home and getting out of this program!"
