Chapter 10

Damon's POV:

It has been a day. A day since the sacrifice, and Elena has not been herself. When I ask her whats wrong she just tells me she is fine, but I know her too well that she isn't. I have been giving her some space, so that she can relax, but when I go and check up on her, she is always laying down. I am getting too worried, and I have to find out what is wrong. I walk up to the door and knock.

D: " Elena? Are you ok?"

E: " Yes, I'm fine. What's up?"

D: " Stop that."

E: " Stop what?"

D: "Stop acting like I don't care. I want to know how you are doing, and why you are acting like this, but you are not letting me. I know its hard on you after this whole thing, but you have to realize that I want to help you, but you don't see that!

I know I upset her, because afterwards she never said a word. As I was about to leave, she spoke up.

E: " You're right. I am so sorry. It's just there has been a question in my head that has been annoying the hell out of me."

D: " What question? You know you can tell me everything,right?"

E: " The night of the sacrifice, what happened to Klaus? I don't know what happened after I died. Please tell me everyone is alright."

I knew this question was going to come up soon.

D: "Bonnie was not able to kill him. She was about to, but Elijah came and saved him. So, he is still out there. The good thing is that he thinks your dead, so he won't be coming for you anymore."

E: " What if he finds out that I am alive? What are we going to do? I can't have him hurt you, Damon. I can't lose you."

D: "He won't find out. Ok? And even if he does, I won't let him hurt you. Unless....... you stop giving yourself up for me, or anyone. You don't need to worry about me, I am a 172 year old vampire. I have been around long enough to learn a few things."

After I finished, I looked into her eyes, and both of our eyes were locked together. I leaned in closer to her, and crashed my lips onto her soft ones. It felt like fireworks were blowing inside of me. This. This is what I have been waiting for. I love Elena so much, and I could tell she loves me back by how passionate she is kissing me. After Elena broke the kiss for some air, I gave a real smile. She noticed, and an even bigger cheesy smile grew on her face. This is when I realized, I got the girl. I repeat it again to make sure I am not dreaming,

I got the girl.
