Chapter 15

Damon's POV:

While we all thought we could get a day of relaxation, Elijah came for the day to spend time with Elena. Mind you that he was the reason that we have to try to kill Klaus AGAIN because he couldn't stop worrying about family. I swear him and Stefan should be lovers since they both worry about the same thing. I am not really happy that Elena is with Elijah, but what can I do? Elena is independant and somewhat knows how to take care of herself. What I did tell him was that if he lays one hand on her, he is dead no matter what. Nothing can stop me from defending Elena. I do it way better than Stefan does. For God's sake, when he was with her, I was the one that always saved her from everybody and everything. I can't stand to see her get hurt. From the moment I layed my eyes on her, I knew someday she would be mine, but I didn't know it would happen that quick. Anyway, I am going for a drink.

Elijah's POV:
( A/N:Elena is Bold; Elijah is regular)

E: "As you see Elena, I did it to see my family one more time, but Klaus tricked me like he tricks everybody. I'm sincerely sorry."

E: " I understand that Elijah, but how can I know you are telling the truth? You put Damon in a lot of trouble for me, and you betrayed him. Your honestly not the most trusting person right now."

E: " I am truly sorry. What can I do to make it up?"

E: " If you are truly sorry, then I need to make a deal. No matter how much danger I am in, you have to protect Damon, Stefan, and everyone that I love. If they harm you, you can't harm them no matter what they do. If you agree to this deal, I will cooperate with Klaus, and even though he doesn't know that I am still alive yet, I won't fight him even if it means I don't make it out alive. Can you do that? I need your word."

E: " You are truly brave, Elena. And yes, you have my word. I think its time to go home now."

I know I am doing this to find my family, but I think I will end Stefan's deal, just because of Elena. It's not that I am falling for her, it's just her personality. She is noble, and brave. She is a female version of me. That is what I like about her. If she needs my help, then I will help her. Let's just see how the Salvatore's believe it.

Elena's POV:
As I walk into the boarding house, I see Stefan walked by. I guess I was staring, and he noticed because he gave me a small smile. I hate to see him so hurt, but I don't feel what I used to anymore. Then, I see Damon, and I give him a small smile. He returned it, until he saw Elijah walk in. I don't know how this is going to go.

E: "Elijah, can you give us a minute?"

He nods and exits the room.

D: "Did you enjoy your time with Elijah?"

E: "I know your upset Damon, but-"

D: "I'm not upset at you, Elena. Never at you. I am upset over the fact that even through his betrayal, somebody always has to trust him. What did you guys even do? Talk with your little teacups and pinkies up?"

E: "I made a deal with him. And I plan to stick with that deal. He is proving to me that he is honorable."

D: " And what was that deal that you made?"

E: " That if he promises to protect everyone that I care about, then he will not be brought to harm. As long as everyone that I care about is safe."

I had to lie but he us probably going to figure out the real deal just by what I said. I really don't know how to lie properly. Just as I thought Damon spoke up.

D: " Wait a minute Elena. Your talking about keeping everyone YOU love safe, but where does that put you?"

Damon's POV:

D: " Wait a minute Elena. Your talking about keeping everyone YOU love safe, but where does that put you?"

I didn't get a response. What is she thinking?

D: "Elena..."

E: " I know the deal I made with Elijah, Damon. Through the whole thing, neither of us mentioned anything about me. I know the risks I am taking, and if it comes down to the people I love? I am willing to take that risk."
Now, I am upset.

D: "What the hell are you saying?! You are willing to kill yourself than to live? Elena! You are only 17 years old! You haven't gotten a chance to live! That is why I am doing everything I can so that you can live your life!"

E: " Well maybe that is the problem, Damon! Maybe you haven't noticed but I am not trying to save myself! We both know how much pain I bring into peoples' lives, so I think I am better off protecting those who actually care about me! I know you care, Damon. And I certainly know that I was never going to have a future! I should not even be here! I am supposed to be dead! I should gave died with my parents!"

How could she say this to me? She actually believes that she doesn't belong here? I can't stay here any longer. I hate that I did it, but I just walked out of the room. She doesn't understand that she has a brother to come home to. I love her with all my heart and to hear her say that she does not belong here is heartbreaking.  As I was entering my room, I hear her start to sob. God, that wrenches my heart.
