Chapter 23

Elena POV:

" I never turned them off Elena."

I stood there with shock. What? He never turned them off? But then that would mean...

" What? How? Wait.. What?"

" I had to make it believe I had them off or else I would have never been able to find out what Klaus's plan was. He bought it after the last attack. Elena... I never wanted to hurt you the way I did. I am truly sorry... But I... Why? Elena, why did you leave me? You said you wanted space because you thought you weren't good for me nor Damon yet you still went with him? I don't understand."

" You mean to tell me that you attacked me on PURPOSE?! What?! Because you had to make Klaus " BELIEVE"?! You couldn't give us a clue?! You made me and Damon suffer and not as much as me but DAMON! HE ACTUALLY CRIED FOR YOU! HE WAS SO WORRIED! AND YOU MEAN TO TELL ME YOU HAD IT ON THE WHOLE TIME?! No you were wrong Stefan, because IM THE ONE THAT CANT BARE TO LOOK AT YOU! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU PUT YOUR BROTHER THROUGH! HE LOVES YOU! NO DO NOT TOUCH ME STEFAN! Goodbye. You may leave and you may want to wait for Damon. I broke his neck to speak to YOU THINKING YOU HAD NO HUMANITY!"

I runs out of the basement and out of the house. Before I left I heard Damon start to groan, and I did not want to be here when he awoke.

Damon's POV:
   Ugh. My neck hurts. What happened? Oh yeah Elena snapped my neck. Wait.. ELENA?! I vamp speed up and tell her name. "ELENA?! ELENA?!" No response. No. I go to the basement. The cellar door is unlocked. As I prepare myself for the worse, I see Stefan sitting there with his head in his head, but no Elena.

"Stefan? Where's Elena? What did you do?!"

"Damon... I didn't do anything. I don't know how to explain it to you, but Damon... Please... You need to find her immediately. She can be in danger."

What? He cares? And what is this that he "can't explain?" Whatever. The only thing I need to do is find Elena.

As I rush through the house through the forest I couldn't find her. I called her cellphone multiple times. Why doesn't she answer? I don't know what to do. Hmmm.

*ring* *ring* *ring*

" Damon? What happened?"

" Bonnie...is she there? Is she there with you?"

"Elena? What? No she isn't only Caroline is. Damon... Where's Elena?!"

As I explain what happened she gets right on it. As she continued to do the spell, she found her. She was in the school. Why would she go there? I ask Bonnie to put a protecting spell on her because it's Elena, she is a necessity to all supernatural.

I make my way to the school, and walk in slowly listening carefully. As I can't hear anything I go farther into the school. I suddenly hear crashing and... Crying? Why is she crying?

"Elena? Elena? It's me! It's Damon what happened?"

Elena doesn't listen and continues throwing things across the room. I rush and grab her arms before she hurts herself more, and put them by her sides and turn her around. I pull her to me and she immediately sobs into my shirt. As I raise my arms to hug her I noticed a sent. I look down my hands and see her blood smeared on me. At least it isn't serious that we can handle that later. As she continued to sob she sinks to the ground and I go with her. As she calms, she leans against the wall and just stared off into space.

"Elena? Please. Talk to me. What happened?"

"I'm sorry Damon. I am so sorry."

" Elena... It wasn't like I wasn't going to come back if that's what your worried about. But I know that's not the case."

"He... He... He never shut it off Damon. He never did. He always had it on."

" Stefan? What? No that's impossible. If he had it on he wouldn't have attacked you. Why are you saying this?"

" I know that's what I thought... Until he told me and I saw it. Damon he attacked me on purpose. And you want to to know what his reason was? He had to make Klaus believe that he was on his side so that he can find out what his plan was. We were here trying to help a man that was perfectly fine, just with a sick mind."

" I'm going to kill him. He cannot get away with this Elena... He hurt you multiple times."

" I understand. But you want to know something? He was right. Like always he was right. You want to know what he said?"

I just looked down, and let her continue.

" He said that I was the reason that you and him are always fighting. The reason why you guys never agree to anything. You know what it feels like to know that you are the reason why your boyfriend's brother and him are constantly fighting over things that can be discussed? The reason why you guys are always almost getting killed. The reason that I am always the reason that one day I am going to wake up and not have you or him or anybody by my side? No you don't Damon. You want to know why? Because you don't have to constantly live with guilt. You have an option. I don't. And quite frankly, I don't want this life anymore. I DON'T WANT IT DAMON! I want it gone."

I can't lose her. I just got her. At the moment I don't know what to do.

" Elena listen to me. You are not the reason for ANY of this. Ok? Please don't ever think that. I love you... I can't lose you. Elena, you can't give up yet. One day everything will turn up happy. You won't have to worry anymore because it will all be gone. Elena... Tell me... What do you want?"

Silence.

" You really want to know what I want? I want to be a lone for a while. I need space. I need to just think and try to have a clear mind. Damon... It's hard. It's hard and I am trying so hard. Not for me. For you. I want to be with you. I don't want to lose you too, but can I have some space? You know I love you. I would never stop loving you. And this with Stefan? That most definitely proved that. But Damon... I need to
give you a heads up... I got a text message... It's Klaus. He is looking for me. He says " Hello love, I am here to pick you up. You know, human blood bag and all. Come to the alley behind the Grill. Alone. Wouldn't want the Salvatore brothers stopping us this time now would we? Anyway, I hope you enjoyed Stefan. I heard all about it. Bye love and I will see you soon""

I think it's time to put Mikeal to use.
