what three lessons do you want your children to learn from you?
if i have child(ren), i want them to first of all learn to be kind. always to todo el mundo, everyone. it doesn't cost you anything, and you never know just how much someone needs an act of kindness.
second, i want them to learn that it is okay to not be okay. i didn't know that for too long, and it wasn't easy. you don't have to be all together all the time. you don't have to know what you want to do. you don't have to be okay. you don't. end of sentence.
third, i want them to learn to ask for help. if you don't understand something, ask for clarification. if you can't handle something alone, ask for support. if you feel overwhelmed, ask for a listening ear or advice. if you feel sad, ask for company. i can't help if you don't ask.
