Sometimes sleeping in a moving vehicle is the best sleep a person can get.
That is until the driver decides to go on a bumpy road, leaving Brite's head to hike up into Drift's chin.
"Ooh fuck!" He hissed, the bump causing his hand to tend to the place of impact only to wince at the contact. He bared his teeth, the pulsating heat gradually dimming down only to flare up again. The tender flesh in his mouth was too a victim; a direct hit from his clenching jaw right to his teeth that clamped down and forced the blood from his tongue. Drift inhaled, now cursing under his breath as the warm ooze from his own bite forced irritation.
"Jeez, Brite your head is about as hard as a damn rock." He groaned, rubbing the underneath of his chin to try and lessen the pain. The female that lay on him stay breathing in such a soft manner that it left him confused.
'Should I wake her up?'
The thought brought on a curiosity as to what she would do if he were to try. All it took was one movement and she was tugging at Drift's cloak like a child, he couldn't help but smile at that one. He remained still, wanting to be the proper pillow for her resting head despite the pain it had previously caused him. The car ride was getting more hectic and he could only assume that they were reaching their destination. That also means that this is untouched territory, or at least Drift had assumed so.
"Reeeexx!! Are we there yet!?" Cuddle croaked, her legs kicking and stomping rapidly at the ATK's floor.
"Almost." The irritated driver mumbled, his voice so monotone it had the sour affects of hearing nails on a chalk board.
The conversation continued in a loop that Drift no longer had interest in hearing. Funny enough the bumpy road dissipated into nothing in such a gradual transition that the teen hadn't noticed. He exhaled, the tips of his fingers grazing along his tender chin, examining silently how much damage Brite had done. The pain had subsided to a tolerable state, leaving Drift to think about other things. His arm cradled the sleeping beauty next to him, a thumb caressing over her shoulder to keep the car ride soothing whilst she slept.
Any visable objects that presented themselves infront of him down the road became nothing but a blur. A mental state was affecting Drift's eyes, and he hit the point of a deep pensive state.
It's all so weary to him.
The way life works could never make an ounce of sense to the blond male. His eyes traveled over to the girl he's undeniably fallen in love with, the thought of why came across. Why is it now, in this world of the unknown has he fallen in love? Why is it that his first kiss had to be a character from a game? Why was he so willing, and so much more bold in front of her rather than Saceilia? It wasn't just Brite on his mind either, it was also The Enforcers that wanted to take him back to Earth.
All of it.
The fact that he didn't die when Moniker shot him.
..The voice of the leader sounding familiar.
How?
It could be a simple mistake, a figment of his imagination, but it was almost unmistakable. Torn, he averted his thoughts from the subject. It would be only a damage to his own pensive mind to think further, especially with the unnerving thought of going back home.
Leaving Brite.
Staying.
It's all too much for one man to comprehend.
