The cold night air brushed across the skin of the two teens who slept soundly in the back of the ATK. The both of them managed to get comfortable in eachother's space one more, and without noticing it the two of them inched closer during their nap.
Cuddle tapped Brite's cheek rapidly, she had only been doing this for a short amount of time and Brite had already started to wake up. Carefully, the pink haired girl's eyes fluttered open to meet the uneven eyes of Cuddle's.
"Oh! Finally sleepy head." Cuddle giggled and put a finger to her mouth, tilting her head in unison, "Drift must be really comfortable.~"
Brite looked at her friend with confusion, why would she say something like that? With her vision a slight bit blurred from just waking up she couldn't help but feel confused for awhile longer. Soon enough her vision cleared and she inspected her surroundings, or should she say she inspected Drift. Brite squeaked and jumped up, causing Drift to grunt and sit up from his sleep as well. She put her hands over her face and inhaled, freak, not only did she fall asleep again, but she used him as a pillow. Cuddle being the witness of this was not a good thing and she sure wouldn't let Brite live this down for a single second.
Her heart stopped and it seemed as if all her breath was going to come out of her body, but she had to recollect herself as quickly as possible. If she freaked out now they would both notice and it would totally give away how embarrassed she was.
Cuddle let out a full hearted laugh and handed the both of them slurp juices, "the movie is going to start, when you two lovebirds are ready don't be scared to join." She winked and skipped away.
Brite quickly moved farther away from Drift and stood up, "I'm-"
"I told you I didn't mind." He cut her off, his voice sounding tired and much deeper. The teen yawned, stretching as he stood up and looked her with half-lidded, restless eyes. It was at moments like this that Brite wished he'd just keep his kitsune mask on. Although it was dark, she could still say that his eyes were a definent weakness. "C'mon we're going to miss the movie."
Brite nodded, luckily it was dark enough for him to not see her face. Even with the cold weather he made enough heat rise up to her cheeks to make her warm. She avoided eye contact as she started to walk to the lines of cars, picking one close enough to everyone else. Drift sat on the back of the car, Brite right next to him.
It was nearly perfect timing, they had just made it before the previews ended, leaving the screen black for a moment before it lit up with life again. Coincidentally, the movie that started to play was the exact same one they had watched together in the hotel. Brite smiled in excitement, she would finally be able to see the beginning of the movie. She found herself sucked in, completely engulfed into the screen as soon as it started. She took small sips of her slurp as the introduction scene proceeded.
Like the end of the movie, the beginning was just as exhilarating. The main male character was speaking with the girl he was chasing, or at least that's what Brite remembered. She turned to Drift, "Is this the scene you were talking about?" She whispered, he nodded in response but not before he raised a finger, signaling her to be quiet just as she had done to him a few times. Brite silently pouted and turned her attention back to the gigantic projection.
This time they seemed to be working together on a certain mission. The both of them looked extremely serious, their biker helmets being set on the table infront of them. Just as the two were about to wrap it up a heavy, startling knock pounded at the door.
"Before you go.." the male put a hand on his partner's shoulder, she had already gotten up out of her seat to answer it but he stopped her mid-way, "don't listen to anything they tell you." He pulled her into an embrace, the way he hugged her was an obvious way of saying goodbye. It was as if he knew something bad was going to happen, "I'll always love-"
"Open up, now!" A voice called from outside of the heavily secured door. The woman didn't say a word back as she pulled away from the hug. Her eyes were red enough for anyone to guess that she had been crying, that she was hurt.
"Me too." She mouthed, only small remnants of her voice remained when she spoke those words.
Then she was gone.
She didn't look back at him for a single second, nor did she come back to him. It turns out that the male was framed, most believed he was a serial killer, having killed and injured many people. This was obviously untrue to everyone watching, but the entire time the crowd had to deal with the unnerving criticism and hatred the main character went through for being falsely accused of these murders.
The first, and most heart wrenching scene being the beginning, when he loses the love of his life and his children.
After lots of torture and frustration of watching an innocent man go through such treatment, he's finally cleared of his crimes. As the movie continued he spent days, weeks, even months trying to search for the woman he loves.
Then, finally, he found her.
After that the scene Brite remembered clearly in her head from the hotel started to play again. She finally realized that the ones who framed the male character ended up being the very people him and his lover used to work for.
She lost interest after that, the rest of the movie she already witnessed. After all, seeing that kiss a second time wouldn't do her heart much good.
Brite sighed as the excitement for the movie died down, she knew that there was no avoiding the scene anyway.
She got up off of the back of the car and started to walk away. If anything she wanted to be secretive about it, but before she took another step Drift noticed her. He didn't say anything, deciding that maybe she wanted time alone.
If she wanted him there then she would've said so.
Brite traveled to one of the nearby stores to grab herself some food, she wasn't in the mood for a movie anymore. Her heart felt a small aching inside as her eyes traveled around to see some of the people hugging. This must be a popular place for couples, that had to be the only explanation. She placed a hand over her heart and inhaled slowly, then exhaled. It took a bit of time before she was called up to grab her food. She didn't bother to order anything large, just a little cup of fries were good enough. It was at times like this when her mind would wander, thinking of many different things.
But this time only one thing, one person, came to mind.
Brite felt her heart beat more clearly against her chest, it wasn't one second she could get her mind off of him. The heat that was undeniably burning in her chest almost made it hard for her to breathe. She shook her head and started to walk back to the car.
"Hey!" A voice called out to her, she immediately knew who it was.
Sunny.
"Oh hey Sunny." Brite smiled slightly as she moved a singular french fry to her lips, preparing to eat it.
"I can't talk long, but you know what I'm going to ask."
"No, and I'm not doing it anytime soon." Brite bit down on her fry and glared at her friend with 'I'm not in the mood' eyes.
"Alright but I suggest you do it now." Sun Strider's eyes traveled over to where they were sitting, "I think Drift's making new friends."
Brite's heart stopped, her eyes immediately shot over to were they were sitting and sure enough a few girls were surrounding him, laughing and talking.
