Chapter Twenty-One

I've been receiving more looks than I have since the beginning of school. Something that also pops up is an 'I'm sorry for what happened to you.', comments. From people who I didn't even know.

So, I'm guessing this town literally knows everything that goes on. Well, it makes sense; they have enhanced hearing. Duh, Lizzy, you're so stupid.

"This isn't fair," I sigh as I wait on the benches beside Bella as we were now in PE. "I'm not allowed to compete in the running race because I'm human?"

Bella shrugs. "Lizzy, we're just looking out for you. Some of these werewolves are really fast, for instants, Baeden. He's the fastest werewolf slash Alpha I know."

"Still," I mumble. "So what, do I just watch?"

"You can cheer for us, I'm sure Baeden would like that," Emily smirks, popping up behind Bella. "Lizzy, we're only looking out for you, you don't understand how competitive this gets for everyone."

"Yeah, yeah," my shoulders dropped. "I guess I can cheer. When does the first race start?"

We were competing with Emily's class. Turns out, Kayden's in Emily's class and it would be rather interesting to watch the two Alpha's compete against each other.

"Boys," Cleo answeres, sitting beside me. "We should be stretching, guys."

"Don't need to stretch," Emily tells Cleo, brushing her off.

"I've already stretched," Bella tells us, smiling. The first row of boys lines up, I don't recognise most of them just James.

Baeden and Hayden walked over to us. "You ready for the race?" I ask Baeden, my eyes fixed on his eyes. He looks back at me, smiling.

"Hell yeah, I'm ready to beat the other losers," Baeden states confidently.

"Hey,"

"Sorry, man," Baeden smiled sheepishly at him. I laughed lightly at their banter. The bricks went off and of the werewolves sprinted. James came third, which I didn't think was bad, a tall blonde had come first a black haired man came second.

"You guys are speedy," I murmur, as my gaze was fixed on the track now. James had jogged over to us, grinning.

"In the finals," James informed us, we all congratulated him, all smiles.

"You'll get to verse me," Baeden congratulated him, his eyes shining.

"If you get in," I smirk at Baeden. He shouldn't be so confident about himself, he may be the Alpha and all but still.

He turned to me, glaring at me. "I will make it, just you wait." I let out a tiny laugh.

My laugh was soon cut off. "Hey, team!" Rachel's annoying voice popped up. "You did amazing, James!"

The only person that hasn't been nice to me, was Rachel. But honestly, I didn't care. I don't need sympathy, at least, not from her. I don't need sympathy from anyone.

Rachel walked right over to Baeden, grinning and batting her eyelashes. Her fake eyelashes. Baeden takes a step back, his eyes flickering over to me, I was smiling. I find this amusing.

He gave me an annoyed look. "What do you want, Rachel?" Emily glares.

"I just came to see my good friends!" Rachel grins, her focus mainly on Baeden who avoided all eye contact. He then shoved past her and took the spare seat next to me, wrapping an arm around me and pulling me closer to him. "Oh..."
