What I Wish Happened

Chapter Three

We walk into the Beverly Centre and Leo's eyes burst out his head slightly as he looks around the room. "Definitely better than the shopping center's from where I live" I laugh slightly and look around the large open space to spot Alexis laying on her back on the seats in the middle of the room. We walk over, she's wearing her sunglasses and a beanie as she described, I notice that her eyes are closed and tap her shoulder. "VEE! Finally, I've been here forever." I smile to myself as she looks next to me. "And who is this beautiful drink of water?" Leo steps forward and introduces himself. "And you have a gorgeous British accent, this just could not get any better." He smirks and looks across the room. I notice a slightly sketchy looking guy nodding at Leo and he nods back.

He turns to me and smiles, "I just spotted an old friend from the UK, I'm just going to go say hi if that's okay?" I nod and smile as he walks off, Alexis watches as he walks away with smirk on his face. "Ah, such a beautiful man. So... Nova, the story please." I wink at Alexis and turn to walk to Louis Vuitton when I see Leo, handing a small bag of pills to a guy that looks a little bit younger than us. The guy hands back a roll of cash which Leo quickly stuffs in his pocket. "Well that doesn't look sketchy at all." I switch my eyes to look at Alexis, giving her evils slightly. "Can you not right now Lex." She nods understanding that I am in a bad mood. Leo notices that we are looking at him and adds up quite quickly that we saw the drug deal. He wonders back over to us and places his hand on my upper arm. "It's not what it looks like..." I gave him a slightly irritated look and start to walk away and back to my car. "Nova?" I turn to face him and take a deep breath. "Leo, I think I'm pretty relaxed with a lot of things but drugs and drug dealing is never going to be one of them." I push his hand off my arm and walk in the direction of the car. Alexis quickly jumping in with me before we speed away.

On Monday morning, I drag myself out of bed extremely reluctantly, I grab my phone off the bedside table and see the time, I'm late, I have 20 minutes to get fifteen minutes away.

Hey, leaving my house now, want a lift? - Elijah

I smile and reply with a smiling emoji and thanking him. I run into that bathroom and brushing my teeth, doing the minimal makeup and straightening my hair. I pull on my tights and grey check tube skirt, I pull the white polo shirt on decorated with the school logo over my head. I pull my 3/4 length sleeve cardigan on over the top, slip my pumps on my feet, grab my bag and run down the stairs picking up a banana and a bottle of water. As I lock the door behind me I see Elijah pull around the fountain placed in the centre of the driveway. I jump in and he smiles at me sat in the passenger seat. I lean over and kiss his cheek, "Hi..." he smiles slightly shocked that I kissed him, even if it is on the cheek.

Elijah pulls into the school parking lot and pulls into his usual space. I look over at Elijah and smile. "Thank you." He smiles and nods as he looks down at the keys in his hands. "Anytime Nova." I smile and lean forward again, I run my hand along his jaw, I move his hand to my thigh and pull back before pressing my lips to his. I feel his lips pull into a smile and my lips do the same at the thought of it.

I pull back and fall back into the seat. "Elijah, I like you. A lot. But, I don't want labels or to think about hurting you for not telling you things that as a girlfriend I should." He turns to my two creases appearing between his eyebrows. "What do you mean Nova?" I look up at him and sigh, "My family has secrets, and as a girlfriend, I would want to tell you. I don't want that. I want to be with you. But without strings and without labels." He nods still slightly confused but agrees. "I like you too Nova, I think I have been pretty clear about that. So I will take you in any way I can have you." I lean forward and kiss him again. "I have history, walk me?" He nods happily and walks around the car and loop his hands around mine.
