What I Wish Happened

Chapter Seven

As I wake up I reach over to the other side of the bed as feel a warm empty spot and frown to myself, as I sit up and look around the room, it's not my own, it's Leo's. The door then quietly clicks open, and Leo walks through clicking the door closed again. He smiles and walks over sitting on the edge of the bed, handing me a cup of coffee, I bury my head into his shoulder.

"I want to wake up next to you at some point." He turns body and kisses my head. He takes the cup from my hand and places it on the bedside table. He walks around the bed and sits in the space beside me, covering himself back over with the covers. he reaches his arm over, inviting me to snuggle into his body. I take the invitation with a huge smile on my face. I snuggle into his body; my head laid on his chest. "I know it's not the same but one day will never wake up apart." I smile and look up at him, lightly pressing my lips to his.

As I nuzzle my head into his chest again, Leo makes a large breath and he rests his chin on top of my head "Lukas isn't back yet." I nod and pull away from him slightly and look up to him "He said he'd be a Drew's until mid-day." He nods and moves to the edge of the bed facing away from him. I move so I'm sat behind him and wrap my arms around his waist "I know that you don't like this situation, but this is all I can offer you right now."

He pushes my arms off of him and walks to the other side of the room and looks at me shaking his head and looks back down at the ground, "Why Nova? If you love me even to a percentage to the way I am in love with you then you would leave Lukas and be with me. So what is it, Nova?" I stand up and walk towards him, our bodies are inches apart. "I love you, Leo. I can't say why but I just can't leave Lukas. I wish I could because all I want is to be with you." He shakes his head and pushes past me sitting on the edge of the bed again facing me before looking to the ground again.

"You are impossible. All I want is you. All I need is you. You are infuriating. You annoy me to no end, but you are also smart, and funny and beautiful, you are the only person I want to be with, I want you to annoy me for the rest of my life, I want you to be the only person in my life. I could lose every person in my life but you. I want to piss you off every single day and I want you to scream back at me. I don't want to see you with another man, the idea of someone else touching you the way I do, loving you the way I do, makes my skin crawl. It's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be really hard and we're gonna have to work at this every day but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day. Will you do something for me? Please? Will you just picture your life for me? Years from now, what's it look like? If it's with Lukas, go! Go! I think I could survive without you if I thought it's what you really wanted. But Hermosa please don't take the easy way out."

I take a few steps forward towards him cupping his face in my hands. "Did you just quote the notebook?" He looks up at me and shakes his head in laughter. "That's what you got from that?" I smile and wrap my arms around his shoulders, as he lays his head on my chest. He sits back in bed inviting me back into his arms and again I climb in, snuggling into his arms with a huge smile on my face. "I want all of that too; one day that is how it will be, but right now I just need to wait a little bit longer." he sighs as he rests his chin on my head. "I'd wait a century for you, Nova." I close my eyes and snuggle into his arms tighter.

Leo and I have been sleeping for at least two hours before we hear a knock at the door. I shout a panicked look in Leo's direction, "Um. Who is it?" the door clicks open and Sam walks in. "Calm you two, I connected the dots, especially when I heard a lot of yelling the words 'I love you,' Nova can I speak to you outside a minute?" I nod as he exits, I grab Leo's t-shirt from the floor and put it on over my naked frame, it's almost a dress on me which simply makes me giggle. I look to him as he smirks at the sight of me in his clothes. I walk towards the door and out into the hall. "Nova, honey what are you doing?" I look down at my chipped nail polish on my toes. I look back up at Sam expecting a look of disappointment but see an expression of concern, "I don't know... I stuck here Sam." he pulls me in for a hug, "Do you love Leo?" I nod slowly as I look down to the floor "With every atom of my being." He smiles at me slightly. "Do you love Lukas?" I take a deep breath and look up at him. "I don't know." he pulls me in for a hug again. "Honey, you need to decide what and who you want before all of you get hurt." I nod as Sam walks down the hall and I walk back into Leo's room where he's pacing the floor. "He's not going to say anything, don't worry." I walk into his arms and inhale in his scent, I finally feel safe again. "I need a shower," Leo smirks as he looks at me. "I think I have a better idea. Give me twenty minutes." he runs out of the room with an excited look on his face. I sit on the bed and pick up the phone. I facetime Alexis.
