Your POV- Monday Morning, around 8:45.
I woke up early this morning leaving a note for Mari. This whole weekend had been amazing, I spent Friday and a little bit of Saturday with Courtney, I had come home and Mari was more than happy to take care of me. The only problem was my parents. As much as they've hurt me, I can't stop loving nor can I forget them, they're my blood. They've been calling me nonstop since Sunday morning and because I haven't talked to anyone about who they are, except for Courtney of course, I can't really answer them, I've been too scared they're going to start screaming at me. So this morning I woke up an hour earlier and decided to walk to work while calling my parents. I left Mari a note and it read:
Morning Mari,
You may notice I'm not here, I left early to run some errands. I left you some pancakes, hopefully they aren't cold!
See you at work,
Y/N <3
I walked out the door and took about ten minutes to prep myself to call. When I calmed down, I hit the call button on my father's name.

"Hello? Y/N?"
"Dad?"
"Where the hell are ya?!" He yelled into the phone.
Great, just what I expected...
"How are you dad?" I asked trying to make the conversation better.
"I'm... working, where are you? I haven't seen you in 6 months!"
"It's been 8 months dad and I'm in LA," I stated, I knew this was a bad idea.
"Whatever! Get back here now! You have work to do!" He screamed.
I audibly sighed, "I am working, on my own in LA, making a living? You never let me do anything, I actually have friends who treat me nicely".
I was getting close to the front doors of the Smoffice.
"Well they're making a mistake liking a queer misfit like you!" He yelled over the phone. I moved it away from my ear, the words and the volume combined was too jarring.
"Dad..."
"SHUT UP, get your ass back in New Jersey, I want you back by next week!" He yelled.
"DAD," I said in a stern tone, "I'm not coming back," I calmly stated, trying to keep my cool.
"WELL YOU BETTER BEC—," I hung up the phone. I was at the doors of the office and I was done with that conversation.
I went to open the door to the office when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I jumped and turned around seeing Shayne there.
"Jesus Christ, Shayne... little warning next time," I said.
"Sorry Y/N, you okay? I heard some screaming in the other end of the phone?"
"Yeah it's good just some telemarketers,"SHAYNE's POV (ikr, I'm trying)
"Oh," I looked at the floor awkwardly.
I could have sworn Y/N say "dad", there's something not right here.
I checked my watch, "it's 8:45, wanna go in?"
"Oh, yeah," She said opening the door and walking in.Your POV
I cleared my head of the situation with my dad as I talked to Shayne.
"So how was Goldbergs?" I asked.
"It was good, just wrapped the season, hopefully it continues," he said. He looked concerned about it.
I placed my hand on his shoulder, "I'm sure it will," I tried to console him.
"Thanks," he replied smiling, I took my hand off his shoulder.
"How was the rest of your weekend?" I looked at him confused, "you know, after the rest of us left Courtney's?"
"Oh," I went slightly red, looking away from him, "yeah, it was good," I quickly stated.
We arrived in the office, I looked at Shayne, "I'll be in our office if you need me," I said, jogging to the office quickly.
I opened the door and got in quickly, then shutting the door with a sigh.
"Y/N!" A voice said surprised.
I jumped again, not expecting anyone to be there. I looked up to find Courtney.
"Jumpy today?" She asked standing up from her desk, a concerned look on her face.
"Yeah," I said walking over. I put my head on her shoulder.
"Everything okay baby?" She asked wrapping her arms around me.
"I called my dad this morning. I haven't said anything to him for 8 months".
"How'd it go?" She asked. By her tone, it was clear she had an idea.
"He yelled at me, not even a how are you, just a scream," I said.
"It's okay," she squeezed harder, I wrapped my arms around her, "you know the squad and I are always here".
"Thanks Court," I said, pulling away.
She smiled.
"What are you doing here so early anyway?" I asked her, trying to shift away from that conversation.
"I want to present an idea for a sketch," she smiled.
"That awesome Court," I praised, cheering up more and more. Something about Courtney's presents just made everything better.
"What's awesome?" A voice came out of nowhere.
I jumped again,"What is it with me getting jump scared every five minutes?" I looked at Courtney. She laughed.
"Sorry Y/N," It was Keith, accompanied by Noah of course.
"I wrote a sketch!" Courtney said.
"That's awesome Court Court," Keith said walking over to the two of us.
We got to talking about the rest of our weekend when Shayne and Olivia joined us. Shayne talked about Goldbergs, Noah talked about him and his girlfriend going out, Keith had gone out with some friends from high school, and Olivia had spend her weekend with some of her friends as Sam, who I haven't met yet, was at Goldbergs with Shayne.
Soon enough the conversation turned to Courtney and I.
"What did you do over the weekend guys?" Noah asked innocently.
"Oh umm," I glanced at Courtney, "I uhh, slept over at Courtney's and she drove me home because I was way too hungover to walk," I smiled as the others laughed," then Mari and I sat around all weekend talking," I admitted. It was true, it just wasn't in detail.
"I drove Y/N home and then went out with my family," she said quite vaguely ignoring the events that occurred Friday night which I guess was really Saturday morning.
Just then Joe popped his head in the door, "Hey guys, meeting time let's go," he said leaving the door open. We looked at each other, got up, and left.
