Your POV
Courtney and I were taking a two week break from Smosh, we were halfway through our chapter vacation when we decided to spend the rest of it meeting Courtney's family. When we first started dating Courtney mentioned that her parents weren't too fond of the bi thing, but since then, they've completely accepted it and love her for it... according to Courtney anyway.
After going to a therapist like Courtney told me to, it was discovered that I have some issues with bottling emotions and anxiety, but I was told as long as I keep talking and coming back, I should be okay in the next couple years and that was... relieving.
Before driving to Mr. Miller's house I realized how concerned I was about the event. The anticipatory anxiety kicking in. I asked Courtney things like.
"Are you sure they want to see me?" Or "are they okay with me dating you?" And even things like, "I'm such a handful, are you sure you want to be dating me."
The last one really upsetting Courtney, which I didn't mean to do. She of course responded with things like, "of course I want to date you," and "yes they want to see you!" And other things like "If I didn't love you for everything you have I wouldn't be dating you sweetheart". Courtney's Dad lived only an hour from where Courtney lives, apparently Courtney had been planning for me to meet her family soon anyway, and apparently her two younger brothers Clarke and Conrad(who they referred to as Conr), and two of her older sisters, Kari and Kathryn. Of course, her dad was there too, his name is Kenn.
Now we're in Courtney's car, driving to Mr. Miller's house.
"You excited?" She asked. Courtney was wearing sweatpants and a T-shirt crop top. I was wearing jeans and a button down, I wanted a make a good first impression.
"More like super nervous," I laughed.
"Why?"
"I don't know, I've never met them before. You'll never have to do this dude, I just don't know if they'll like me."
Courtney kept her eyes on the road and moved her free hand on top of mine, "I'm sure they'll like you babe."
"What am I suppose to say? Hi, I'm Y/N, I'm dating your sister, we have sex at least once a week." We burst out in laughter.
"Oh my god, please don't say that," she chuckled, just introduce yourself normally, I'm always here okay?" We pulled into a neighborhood and eventually into a dead end with a big blue house.
"Here we are, welcome to the Miller household," she giggled.
We stepped out her car and I grabbed my backpack, slinging it around my back. Courtney locked the car as we walked up to the porch, she kissed me then, "you'll be fine, I promise." We ring the door bell, and the door immediately opened, almost before I could put my hand down.
"COURTNEY!" One blonde woman came out in sweatpants and a hoodie wrapping Courtney in a huge hug, I studied her for a second trying to remember from the photos Courtney quizzed me on earlier. I came to the conclusion it was Kari, she had been in a couple Smosh videos before.
"And you must be Y/N," she said, pulling me into a hug, I hugged back of course.
"And you must be Kari," I said.
"Yep, come on in," she looked at Courtney then, "Dad's dying to meet Y/N," Courtney walked in ahead of me and smiled back at me. I shut the door behind me, looking around, making sure Courtney was still in view. It was a beautiful house with pictures everywhere. There was a staircase to my left, a living room to my right and a separate room next to the stairs on the left too. I followed Courtney into the spacious living room seeing two boys sitting on the couch. Once they noticed us, they stood up immediately, hugging Courtney quickly and coming over to me.
"Hiya!" One of them said, "I'm Clarke, this is Conrad," He put his hand out and I shook it.
"You can call me Conr," the other boy said, I shook his hand too.
"Y/N," I smiled.
"Y/N," Courtney grabbed my hand, "come meet Kathryn," Courtney pulled me into the kitchen leaving Kari, Conr, and Clarke behind in the living room.
There was a woman chopping tomatoes in the kitchen, she seemed to be making sandwiches and putting them on paper plates.
"Oh hey Court!" She turned to hug her, spotting me, "and your Y/N," she hugged me too.
"Hey," Courtney squeezed my hand, "I'll be right back."
"Okay," I said as she walked off somewhere leaving Kathryn and I facing each other, not knowing what to say.
Kathryn looked down the hall to make sure Courtney was out of sight.
"Thank you," she caught my attention.
"Huh?"
"Courtney doesn't really talk to us that much, she talks to Kari because they're like 20 minutes form each other. Courtney didn't talk to us about her daily life that much until she started dating you."
"Oh, umm you're welcome," I said awkwardly.
She turned back to the tomatoes, "she talks about you a lot actually," I said, "all of you."
"Yeah?"
I thought then, I love Courtney and I'll probably be involved with her family for forever hopefully, I might as well open up now.
"Well yeah, I'm an only child and my parents are quite... I suppose you could say abusive," she paused there, tensing, "so hearing about the stories from when she was younger with you guys always makes me feel better about it." I smiled reminiscing.
"I'm sorry to hear that," She said looking out the window.
"Oh, don't worry about it," I just smiled.
"Why don't you go sit with Kari, Clarke, and Conr, I'll be out with some sandwiches soon, Dad- uh Kenn should be down soon as well," she said turning and smiling at me.
"Sure," So I walked back to the living room seeing the Miller's sitting around waiting.
They perked up when I entered the room.
"Hey, mind if I take a seat?" I asked gesturing to two seater.
"Please do," Kari smiled.
I sat, looking around, next to me was a side table, photos of all the kids were there. I looked over at them, then back at the Millers.
"You guys looked like you had fun summers," I smiled trying to get conversation started.
"Oh yeah," Clarke laughed, smiling at the photos.
"Yeah a lot of them involved road trips or staying home and going to the creek," Conr responded smiling as well.
"What did you use to do?" Kari asked me. I don't really know how to respond, I wasn't allowed out the house.
"Oh uhh, we didn't really have vacations," I said.
Courtney walked in then with three sandwiches, she handed one to me and Kari, then sat down next to me, "What we talking about?"
"What we use to do for summers when we were kids. Y/N was just talking about how she didn't really go on vacations," Clarke responded.
Courtney nodded.
"Yeah, I didn't go on vacations, never once left home for the summer so when I moved out here it was the first time I flew and everything."
"Wow, how was that?" Conr asked, genuinely intrigued. Kathryn walked in then, bearing three sandwiches, one for her, Clarke, and Conr. She sat down.
"Absolutely terrifying," I laughed, they all chuckled as we dig into our sandwiches. Once we finished our sandwiches, we heard a noise from upstairs, footsteps.
"That must be Dad," Kari said, "probably got off his call."
"Oh," I said.
"Come on, I'll introduce you," Courtney said.
"O-okay," I said, standing up and walking with Courtney toward the stairs. A big man walked down the stairs he had a big smile on his face.
"Courtney!" He hummed wrapping her in a massive hug, she almost disappeared in his grasp.
"And you're Y/N," he grabbed me and pulled me into a hug, I hadn't had a hug from someone like that before, I almost melted in it, but caught myself, "I'm sorry to hear about your parents," he whispered, I was shocked by that, Courtney probably told him.
I pulled away, "its okay," I said.
I started to warm up to Courtney's family, we spent the day laughing and eventually swimming in the pool out back.
I started to feel more confident in myself as I had been going to the gym with Courtney, I still took a one piece, but my arms and legs were still showing.
"I think Y/N's stronger than you Court," Conr teased her.
"Oh yeah?" Courtney responded, looking at me. I looked at her with a smirk and she turned back to him, "you're probably right," we laughed.
Kari came over, "anyone want some instagram photos before we jump in?"
"Yes pleaaaaaseeee!" Courtney cheered going to find her phone.
Kari came and leaned on my shoulder as I laughed at Courtney's giddiness, "By the look on her face, she's going to want you in them."
"Wait what? Why me?" I smiled looking at her.
"Trust me."
"Wanna bet on it?" I asked, smirking.
"Five bucks," she smile.
"You got it."
Courtney came running out handing Kari her phone and grabbing me and pulling me into the photo.
"Told you," She said.
I sighed, picking up my wallet off the table and handing Kari 5 bucks.
"What was that about?" Courtney asked looked at me, then Kari.
"We bet on whether you'd pull me into the picture... I was wrong."
We laughed and Kari took the photos. A few of them were just for us, others for Instagram. After taking them, we looked through, seeing one where Courtney had kissed me on the cheek.
"I wish we could post this," she said.
"You, you do it all the time with Olivia, wed just get hella shipped."
"I'll decide later."
We smiled at each other, thanking Kari and hopping in the pool.
