things had been too quiet the past few days.

the members of ateez sat in silence and watched the group on the other table. silence engulfing every last drop of noise. apart from the distant chatter from other people in the cafeteria, nothing came from their mouths.

jeno and his friends had sat with min-ju and her friends for the past few days and ateez haven't spoken since; constantly watching, waiting for something, anything, to happen.

until it did.

soft fluffy white clouds, drifted into the distance, dark skies replacing them. crackles of thunder, sounding like a predator in the middle of the day. crackles of lightning pierced the sky, lighting it for a split second before the darkness consumed them again.

in the small cafe that bordered the centre and south of the city, min-ju was hanging out with jeno and jaemin. they were calling it a study date, though they were hardly actually studying.

seonghwa was watching them while on his shift as well as the other members watching from across the room. unlike normal, they were taking it in turns to watch the group. deciding they didnt want to look weird in public.

light pitter patter of rain could be heard outside with the occasional rumble of thunder. this was perfect weather for staying indoors, warm hot chocolate, snuggly blankets and binge watching your favourite TV show. however the three friends had decided that it was a good idea to study.

what fun people.

they sat sipping their drinks, looking at the study materials and trying to decide what else they needed to go over. if anything.

"I think we may have went over everything." jeno spoke while looking through the pages they had completed earlier in the night. jaemin and min-ju both nodded in agreement.

"agreed, I think we should probably go." min-ju replied.

the two boys looked at her confused. she nodded slightly towards the group on the opposite side of the cafe who were not-so-subtly watching them. they both ahh-ed in acknowledgement, before nodding and packing their things away.

min-ju waved one of the waiters over and asked them for the bill. the three then paid and left. leaving ateez to be suspicious a they then watched them through the glass windows.

min-ju pulled the hood up on her coat, before waving to the two boys and walking in the opposite direction to them. towards the bus stop.

jeno and jaemin both walked back to their small apartment with the rest of the dreamies, receiving a call from another member shortly after. jeno picked up the device and proceeded to talk to the other end of the line.

"hello?"

"mission complete."

"mission? what do you mean?"

"we have the girl."

"oh... okay."

he hung up the phone without another word. not wanting to express his discomfort at the situation that they had been put into. sure, they were the deadliest members of the gang but they never actually did anything.

normally the other members would do the damage and make it seem as if it was them, meaning they were trapped almost. keeping up some facade. although jeno knew that not all of them felt this way. some of the other dreamies liked it and had actually caused some damage.

although the one thing none of them would ever do if harm the female gang members the nameless were holding captive. in their minds it was the most wrong thing they could ever do, they wanted to free them. but how?
