Joe pulled me into his arms, his lips crushed into mine, I feel the wetness on my cheek from the tears he had in his eyes. My heart broke at the thought of the pain I caused him, making him think I was dead. I really didnt think that he would have even heard about it. Our tender moment was interupted by a knocking on the door, Joe looked through the blind in the window
"Jesus fuck Brook Quick hide"
"What"
"its your father!"
My face fell what the hell can my father be doing here. I ran quick into the bedroom as Joe opened the door.
"Joesph"
"Mr Gravino what can I do for you"
"Can we come in?"
I peaked from the door to see my father and my Uncle Angelo walk in and sit on the sofa.
"Joesph son Im sure at this point you heard what happened to my Brooklyn"
"Yes..Mr...Mr Gravino Im so sorry sir"
"Son I like to ask for your services in helping us find the person responsible for My Brooklyns death"
"I would like to help sir but I am no longer doing any business for the moment, after what has happened I chose to step away and reevaluate my options I hope you understand. I can refer you to someone if your intrested?
"I do son but I real could use your assistance on this you are the only one other than family I trust especially now, Im sure you understand."
"I cant at the moment I hope you understand my reasoning behind it, Brooklyn just died after being under my watch for months I need time to think."

With a nod to my Uncle Angelo my father and him walked out. Joe quickly locked the door behind them before watching their car pull away.
When Joe was sure they were gone he came back and got me,
"That was close Brook"
"I know, I cant believe my father came"
"me either, I think we need to get outta here"
"get out of where?"
"This house, Boston. We cant go to the cabin they will check there"
"where we gonna go, my face is everywhere"
"Let me worry about that, Go in the bedroom change put on some of my clothes and baseball hat"
"what are you gonna do"
"figure out how we get outta here without anyone seeing you".
With a kiss I walked into the bedroom
Within the hour Joe had the car loaded and Duke in, with one last look we pulled out the driveway. Im not sure what he had planned if he had something planned all I know is I would follow Joe to the other side of the earth if he asked. He reached over and grabbed my hand looking me in the eye
"looks like its you and me, you sure you want this"
"if its with you, yes!"
