Your first date:

You and Grayson have been dating on and off for a while. This time you both promised it was going to be for a while since you both grew up a little bit. You've known Grayson since you were kids. He was a goofy kid. He had a twin brother Ethan. You hooked your best friend Stacy up with him. She was very grateful for that.

Tonight was a special night for the both of you. You were going on your first official date as grown ups. You were a year older than Grayson. That didn't matter to you. He was still sexy to you. Him and his earring. You thought that was adorable.

You were going to some fancy restaurant in LA. Grayson insisted he chose the place because you took forever deciding and were too indecisive at times. He said he had a great place in mind. You told him that it better be good or the next time you were choosing. He laughed at that. You didn't find it so funny.

You picked out a nice dress. You weren't so into dresses but you promised Grayson you'd wear one since it was a date. He insisted you wore one since it was somewhere fancy. You picked out the "fanciest" dress you had. It was black with a bit of shimmer. It was fancier than your other two black dresses. You avoided wearing dresses like they were the plague. Dresses weren't your thing. You preferred blue jeans and a nice tee.

He was there by six like he said he would. You were waiting outside for him. He got out of the car and came over to you.

"Wow, you look amazing."

"As do you Mr. Dolan."

He laughed as he opened the door for you. He ushered you in since he said he made reservations. You had wondered all night where he was taking you. You hoped it wasn't some pizza joint since you were dressed nice. You didn't want to look like an idiot. He looked a bit better than you in his pink dress shirt and black slacks. He was so damn hot.

"So where are we going Gray?"

"I can't tell you, it's a surprise."

You shook your head.

"V, why didn't you take your hair down? I never get to see it down."

"You got me in a dress. Isn't that enough?"

"I guess I'm asking for way too much."

"Yes you are."

You weren't that happy when he pulled into an Olive Garden. You hated Olive Garden. He didn't know that. You never told him what you really liked food wise since you didn't like eating in front of him often.

"You made reservations at the Olive Garden? You don't need reservations for the Olive Garden Grayson."

He noticed the snarkiness in your tone. He thought you were joking. So he joked with you.

"I mean no but I was having a hard time figuring out what to eat since I don't really know what you like. I mean I do, but not really. Is this okay?"

You faked a smile.

"Yes it's fine Grayson. I was teasing. Let's go before we change our minds."

"More like you."

He said with a chuckle. He wasn't wrong. You followed him out of the car. Sometimes Grayson was the king of cheesy so when he held your hand and swung it you weren't surprised or embarrassed. Grayson never embarrassed you. He opened the door like a gentleman and even pulled your chair out. You knew he was trying to impress you. Even though he didn't have to. He knew that too.

You both ordered a salad. You both hated salad, so you didn't know why you even ordered it. It was actually good, but the bread sticks were even better. By the time you were finished that you order something to share since you weren't that hungry. Grayson understood. What he didn't know was that you ate in advance so you didn't go hungry if you didn't like the place. You often did that.

"So V, you ever gonna tell me your full name?"

"I guess I could. I mean it's ugly."

"I bet it's not an ugly name."

"It's Vladimira."

He gave you this unsettling look. Almost as if he didn't catch the hint of sarcasm in your tone. You laughed a bit as he spoke.

"Okay, well that's a little different. Russian I take it?"

You giggled a bit louder. He wasn't really picking up on it.

"No silly. My name isn't Vladimira. It's nothing close to that. I was being stupid."

"Ah, right I knew that. I totally knew that."

He did that cute laugh he did. He was laughing a bit louder now.

"Okay Gray, my name is Victoria. I hate it. That's why I go by V. My mom's not a fan of me going by it so I don't really talk to her."

"Ah, so can I call you Vicki?"

"Absolutely not. I hate any abbreviation of my name."

"Not even Tori?"

"No, it's V or nothing else."

He agreed as he ate a piece of the bread stick he had in his hand. You felt weird telling him your full name since no one really knew. Stacy knew, but that was it. You had been going by V since you were five years old. If anyone called you Victoria you'd either ignore them or punch them. It was as simple as that.

Your date was over and you invited Grayson back to your apartment. He had never been since you were a bit secretive. He knew about it, but had never been up.

"So do you live alone?"

He asked as you unlocked the door.

"No, I live with Stacy, Floki, and Luna."

"Wow weird names. I know Stacy. Who are the other two?"

"My dog and her cat."

"Ah, I bet that was bad."

"No not at all. Most people assume they're other roommates. Which they are but they're not on the lease."

"Oh, I'm allergic to them."

"Oh jeez. I totally forgot. Is it okay if we keep it to your place tomorrow?"

"Yeah I understand. I'm sorry I ruined this."

You smiled.

"You didn't ruin anything Gray. I totally forgot you were. It's my fault."

"Maybe tomorrow I can take my allergy meds and come over. I gotta see this place."

"Alright babe. Thank you for dinner."

"No problem. I'll text you when I'm home."

You nodded as he leaned in to kiss you. You kissed his soft lips. You felt his stubble. You laughed as he pulled back.

"Night babe."

"Night Grayson."

You watched him walk away. He was so hot even from behind. You went in once he turned the corner. You were so grateful for him. He was such a great guy. He was the one. You knew it. You smiled as you entered your apartment to be greeted by your handsome boy Floki.
