You try to escape past curfew:
You were bored. It was Thursday night. You wanted to go out. You weren't gonna stay inside. You got a text from Dylan saying he was ready to go to the park. Your dad and papa were asleep. That's what you thought. So you were ready to escape. Your room had the fire escape attached to the window. You were grateful for that.
You opened your window and carefully escaped. That was until you got onto the escape. Your neighbor looked at you. She was on your balcony. She was always so nosy.
"Miss Delilah what do you think you are doing?"
"None of your business Mrs. Peatree. Now go back into your house and go to bed."
She wasn't impressed. She looked at you as you went down the fire escape.
"Your father's won't be very happy with you."
"I don't care. They're asleep. They won't even know."
She shook her head. She just went back into her apartment. You were happy with that. You were hoping she was going to mind her own business.
You just continued down all of the stairs. It was going to take forever. You lived on the sixteenth floor. You hated that. It was scary to you, so when you went down the millions of stairs. You kept thin since you were always on the move.
You smiled once you saw Dylan at the bottom. He was happy to see you as well.
"Sorry it took me so long. I've got sixteen flights of stairs."
"It's okay babe. You sure they're sleeping?"
"I'm positive. Don't be too loud. Papa says he has really good hearing and their window is open."
He laughed at you. He grabbed your hand.
"Man I thought I was gonna be here forever."
"Well sorry I couldn't use the elevator. They would have known."
"If you would've opened it like I said then you could have."
You rolled your eyes. As you were coming around the front of the building you were startled. You saw your papa. He didn't look impressed.
"Carino, trae tu trasero aquí."
E: Sweetie get your ass over here.
"Papa I thought you were asleep."
"No no estaba dormido."
E: No I wasn't asleep.
"Oh, well I'm just having a chat with Dylan."
He didn't look impressed. It was really late. You knew he was mad.
"It's two in the morning. There's no need to be outside. If you wanted to talk to him you could've texted him or called him. Dylan go home before I call your father."
"You don't know my father."
"Your father is Judge Nathan Rogers, so if I have to call him at this hour I think he's gonna be mad."
Dylan's face looked pale. He knew he was in trouble if his father was called. You didn't know his father was a judge. You knew his mother was an attorney since she worked with Papa.
"Okay man, but can I just ask her something?"
"Go ahead, ask her."
He was mad. He wasn't impressed that either of you were out here.
