Thank you for 65+ followers!! Sorry for not updating recently, school's been nuts for me. This chapter isn't bad in length, but it's not good either.
Enjoy! 💕
I almost thought she'd say no. ALMOST.
But she didn't.
She just looked at me with a shocked expression on her face, saying "Me?"
I had chuckled and said, "Yes you. Who else?"
In a tiny, squeaky voice she said, "The wall."
Causing me to chuckle even more.
I love that girl.
I love that Tris Prior.
~
I have something very special planned.
I was planning to do it before we joined the Allegiant.
But then Tris got that memory loss, forcing me to wait.
This is going to be special, really special.
I'm excited, but nervous.
What if it doesn't go out as I planned?
~
So here I am, the next day, carrying a basket and a red rose, waiting at her door.
When Tris comes out of the door, she's wearing a black tank-top, shorts, and the promise ring.
She has makeup on.
Probably the works of Christina.
I told her to dress casual. Good thing she did. She'll be needing it.
"Where are we going?"
"Surprise," I respond flatly.
I hoist the basket, and brush her hair out of her face. I tuck the red rose behind her ear, then take her hand.
I lead her to the rooftop.
I take the blanket out of the basket and spread it out across the floor.
I sit down, and Tris follows, twirling the ring around her finger.
I take out two burgers wrapped in tinfoil. I hand one to Tris.
"You look good, Tris," I say.
My slurred "You look good, Tris" still makes me cringe when I think of it.
"You're not drunk, are you?" Sarcasm drips from her voice.
I chuckle at her as I take out a beer. Her eyes widen to the size of a golf ball.
"Want one?"
She's inspecting the label, calculating something in her head.
But at the end, she refuses.
She's never drunk before. She doesn't seem to differ today.
"No thanks."
We're talking as I fiddle with my shirt, scratching the back of my neck.
I'm doing a surprise for her.
I'm nervous.
"Cake!" she squeals as I bring out two slices of Dauntless cake from the basket.
Soon... The moment I've been waiting for.
I climb onto the zip line, telling Tris to go after me.
I'll yell at her when to stop.
But I'm pretty sure she knows it.
I kiss her quickly, strap myself in, and fly down.
Third time zip lining.
It's starting to become normal.
But like always, I'm shaking.
Just a little bit.
A tiny teensy little bit.
The Ferris wheel, looking as tiny as a pea.
Erudite, glowing faintly in the light.
I fumble for the lever as I approach.
This time, I'm not so close to the wall.
I jump out, grab my guitar and notebook, and dash away from the end of the zip line.
What do you think Toby's gonna do? Notebook? Guitar?
By the way, it didn't pop out of nowhere, he hid them in a bush prior the date.
^ anyone notice the pun?
