I walked into the economics classroom and grabbed a seat in the back row, at a table with two chairs, one for me and the other for Sophie.

I buried my face in my book, 'The Story of Us.' As I was turning the page, I heard the chair next to me slide out.

"Morning!" Said a voice that was NOT Soph. I looked up and saw Sam smiling down at me.

"Oh, hey!" I said and he cuckled. He took out his phone and opened twitter. He had over 20 notifs and 20 dms. He sighed and slid his phone into his pocket once again.

"Why so many?" I asked him. He looked at me and smiled.

"You know Jack and Jack? Well they aren't in Omaha right now because they're at magcon. Because they make those vines and whatever." Sam said. "They had tweeted me that Washington DC was nice." He finished.

"They always said they wanted to be famous..." I said nodding my head. Sam furrowed his eyebrows at me. "I lived in Omaha for 13 years before this Sam." I said and he laughed.

"Wait you had the big glasses and short hair, I remember you Kayla..." He laughed and I blushed. The bell rang and I began taking notes as the teacher lectured us on the economy.

The rest of the day dragged on and I finally got to my car five minutes after we were let out. I looked behind my shoulder as I began to back out and I saw Sam running towards my car. I rolled down the window and he was breathing heavy from running.

"My car broke down, can you give me a ride home?" He asked and I unlocked the doors before he hopped in. He looked at me as I was driving, smirking with no doubt.

"So how have you liked living here? I mean living back here!" He asked.

"It's okay. I'm happy it's already November." I said and he nodded.

"Do you miss your friends and boy friend from home?" He asked and I laughed.

"I've never had a boy friend." I said and Sam turned to look at me.

"But how? You're a cutayyyyy and have a nice ass!" Sam laughed and I pulled into my driveway.

"Typical boy." I said shutting it off and getting out of the car. I began to make my way to the front door and Sam was following me.

"I told AJ I'd play with him." He said following me inside. He sat on the couch and reached for the remote. I talked to Nikki and apparently when I left Sam was the only one who ever played with the kids.

After about an hour the school bus dropped off the kids from westside elementary. AJ opened the front door and through his bag on the floor and ran to his room, slamming his bedroom door.

"I'll go talk to him." Sam said jogging after him. I watched Abby sat where Sam was and she had her head inbetween her legs. I sat down next to her.

"What's wrong?" I asked and she looked up at me.

"We're going to California next week." She said slowly and I was confused as to why she was sad. "Daddy got fired. And we're going to look for jobs." She said playing with her fingers.

"It's okay honey." I said rubbing her back. I heard the front door open and in walked Nikki. She smiled and walked into the living room and leaned on the coffee table looking at the two of us.

"Daddy got one here Abs. But we're still going to go, and maybe we'll go to Disney!" Nikki said smiling at me. It was senior year... I can't miss a week, let alone NEXT week.

"I have tons of tests and exams." I said and Nikki gave me a concern look.

"You sure?"

"Yeah." I said and she looked down the hallways to see Sam making his way out with AJ behind him. Nikki told them the knews and she went into the kitchen to start working out the trip details with the kids. Jay had been out of town for the job he got here, some training thing.

"You wanna go get something to eat?" Sam asked and I looked into the kitchen to see the three of them still hard at work.

"I'd love to." I said getting up and following him. I grabbed the keys and walked to the car, tossing them at Sam. "Your turn." I said and he wiggled his eyebrows.

As we drove to who knows where he had in mind, I admired the sky and the beautiful lights in the city. Growing up I always loved the lights and weather here. Wasn't too cold and wasn't too warm, it was perfect.

Sam pulled up to a small cafe like building.

"It's nothing fancy, but their spagehtti is the best." He said and I followed him inside. Sam walked up to the counter and the waitress picked her head up and jumped into Sam's arms. They pulled away and she smiled at me. "Emily, this is Kayla. Kayla, this is my sister Emily!" Sam said introducing us to eachother.

"Hey doll! Just the two of ya?" She asked while grabbing two menus, Sam nodded and she led us back to a small booth. We sat across from eachother and she set the menus in the middle of us. "Now Sam I didn't know ya had a girlfriend. She's quite pretty and I'm sure she's the greatest yet." Sam put his hand to his forehead and I laughed.

"We're not dating Emily." I said and she half smiled.

"Well it would be perfect if you did. You're Nikki's neice right? I remember you!" She said and I was puzzled. "I used to take care of you when you were really little!" She said and I nodded slowly. "I'm going to go get you guys some hot chocolate." She said and ran off.

"Sorry bout that!" Sam saind and I shrugged. "I didn't know she ever watched you."

"Me either." I said looking at her as she walked over with a tray of spagehtti and two hot chocolates.

"Last plate, so y'all can just share! Enjoy kiddos!" She said and I laughed slightly. Ibrought a big forkfull of noodles to my mouth and quietly moaned at that wonderful taste.

"Good right?" He asked and I nodded getting some more.

All throughout dinner we talked about school, and what we wanted to be when we grew up. I wanted to move to California and become a marine biologist, and he wanted to go to Lincoln state and study to become a physical ed teacher.

Sam looked down at his watch, a very nice one I might add, and got up slowly. He laid a $20 bill on the table.

"We better get you home!" He said and we walked back to the car.

Once we got back to my place he shut off the car and sighed, looking over at me.

"We should do that again!" He said grinning.

"Yeah. I had-" Before I could respond his soft, plump lips were on mine. It wasn't anything intense, just a soft, long kiss. "Fun." I finished saying, putting my bottom lip in between my teeth. He just chuckled and got out, tossing me the keys.

"See ya water girl, I'll text you!" He said walking across the street. I felt knotts in my stomach as I made my way inside. Jay and Nikki were at the table talking and the kids were reading in the living room. I walked over to the table and Nikki smiled up at me.

"I told you that he's a great kid!" She said, I was obviously blushing.

"He is, I'm going to go shower and go to bed!" I said and they all bid me goodnight.

Tomorrow was friday, I needed the weekend to come fast! It's already November 16th tomorrow, they'll be gone on Thanksgiving... and it'll be the first one without my parents.
