"Ayeee new girl!" The waitor guy said walking up to me as I made my way out of the office.
"It's Kayla."
"Oh yeah. Jake by the way." I nodded and made my way to where the secritary told me my locker would be. "Do you need help finding anything?" Jake asked.
"Ha... not yet, but you don't leave me alone to see if I do!" i laughed and his cheeks turned pink.
"Well, how can I leave a beautiful girl like yourself alone?" He asked and my cheeks turned red with heat. "Plus I wanted to tell you that you got the job."
"How?! That's so quick." I said smiling in happiness.
"My dad owns it." He said and my stomach knotted, what about the others that applied? Well to be honest I need the money.
"Cool, when do I start?" I asked and he chuckled.

I was working on homework when my phone rang. It was a number that wasn't programmed into my phone.
"Hello?"
"Kayla, it's Lori Wilk." She said and I clenched my jaw. "I just wanted to call and hear formyself how you're doing. Sam said you're doing great and that you two talk like crazy." She said and my stomach sank.
"No... I haven't talked to him in days." I said and I heard her sigh. "But Lori I promise I didn't leave because-"
"Wait... you left permantly? Sam said you were only going to be gone for a month." I felt tears weld in my eyes and I laid back against my headboard.
"No. I'm in California... forever." I said and I heard her swallow hard.
"Oh... well then, Sam really misses you sweetheart. Speaking of him," I heard a door open and close on the other line. "He's right here. I'll talk to you soon dear." She said. I heard him groan and then silence.
"Sam..."
"What?" He asked, his voice cracking. I heard another door shut, he must be in his room.
"I didn't want to hurt you." I said and I heard a muffled cry.
"Are you kidding Kayla? That killed me! It killed me!" He said, his voice shaking.
"Sam I still lov-"
"Don't you dare. You wouldn't do that to someone you love and you know that." Then the line went dead.
I took a minute to process what had just happened...
My phone rang again. This time it was JJ baby.
"Hey Kayla girl!" He said into the phone right after I answered."Guess who's landing tonight?"
"REALLY?" I asked almost in a scream, but my voice cracked due to the fact I was still crying.
"What's wrong Kay?" He asked quietly and I rubbed my eyes.
"I'm just tired... Wait... Isn't it 11 there? Because it's 9 here..." I said and I heard my bedroom door open down the staircase. The line fell silent and I watched two familiar faces appear in my room.
"JACK!" I screamed, jumping into their open arms. JJ held me tight and rubbed my back.
"AJ told me... he was listening to you and Sam's call." He said and I pulled away.
"I did-"
"We are not mad babe." Gilinsky said making himself at home on my bed. "We hadn't talked to him much the past few days."
