The View

I turned on the radio as Abby asked from the backseat. AJ wanted to ride with Nikki and Jay, so my car was following their truck, pulling the uhaul trailor.

"Onlly 10 more miles." I said to Abby and she yelped with excitement. We started driving yesterday morning and only stopped for a couple hour nap. I yawned and looked around my surroundings. We were in a suburb of LA and we pulled into a driveway right off the beach. I slowly got out of the car and watched them all go inside like it was no big deal... when really it was.

My phone vibrated in my pocket.

From Sammy boy Wilk: Hey babe, where are you? You won't answer my texts and I keep coming over but nobody is there.

To Sammy boy Wilk: I... im sorry.

I slid my phone back into my pocket and walked inside. Nikki and Jay started to bring in boxes but the house was fully furnished, we just needed to spice it up with our own stuff. 

"Your room is up the stairs and to the left, last door." Jay said going back outside to get more stuff. I walked up the stairs and followed his directions. I opened the door only to see another set of stairs. I climbed them until I entered a room completely surrounded with windows and a beautiful view of the ocean.

I ran downstairs and started bringing up my bedding and stuff. I set my pictures on the desk and made my bed. I looked at the bottom o the last box and there was a picture frame with a picture of Sam and I kissing. I picked it up and felt my eyes burn as tears filled them.

"I'm sorry." I whispered as a tear fell onto the glass.

"Kayla?" AJ called up and I set the photo in the nightstand drawer and wiped my face as he appeared. "Mom said you can take me and Abby out for supper, can we go somewhere new?" He asked unaware of my being.

"Sure. Yeah, I'll be down in a sec." I said and looked at my closet which hung all of my clothes.  The nice thing about this loft area, I had a big closet and a private bathroom with a shower. 

I changed into a pair of high waisted cloth black shorts and a pink flowy crop top. I slid on my black sandals as I  made my way outside and into the car where the kids were already loaded.

"Where to?" I asked them as I drove out of the area. The kids pointed to a small diner like building. We all made our way inside and sat at the counter. 

"Hello kids, how may I help ya?" Asked a young man with brown fluffy hair. He smiled at Abby who eyed him curiously. "Lemme guess, chocolate milkshake and a grilled cheese?" He asked and her jaw fell.

"How'd you know?" She asked smiling in amazment.

"I'm a wizard, nah I'm just kidding sweetie, I have a sister your age." He said and he asked what AJ wanted, who ordered a burger and fries. "Now how about you babe?" He asked smirking up at me. I felt my cheeks redden.

"I have-" I cut myself off. Sam wasn't here... I don't have him anymore. "I mean I'll have a hawaiian burger and cheese curds." I said setting the menu down infront of him.

"Ah, a girl after my own heart, I'll be back with your food soon." He said and walked off into the kitchen. I smiled as my stomach eased.

"Where's Sam? He wouldn't like that." Abby said and AJ reminded her that Sam was in Omaha. 

"Yeah... no more Sam." I said nodding. I smiled as the boy approached with the food and displayed it infront of us.

"Enjoy." He said walking off once again. We ate and chatted about school tomorrow, AJ was nervous about him not making the basketball team and Abs worried about not having any friends.

"You'll be fine, but it's already 7, we need to get y'all back home." I said standing up and walking over to the counter where he stood by the cash registor. 

"That'll be $25.79 please."  He said eyeing me up and down. I looked through my wallet and handed him my debit card.

"There. And a five dollar tip." I said and he smiled.

"Thanks love." He said and I felt my cheeks redden.

"Yeah... do you have any job applications." I asked and he handed me a form.

"So you are new here." He said and AJ replied with a yes, along with the story of us coming here. "Well that's quite the story dude. The high school and elementary school here is connected so we're bound to see eachother tomorrow. I'll show ya around." He said raising his eyebrows.

"Thanks."

"No problem, you guys have a good night." He said going to bust another table.

We drove back in silence, well other then Abby singing Habits. I pulled into the driveway and made my way inside. JAy and Nikki were watching TV so the kids went and got ready for bed, along with myself.

I locked my door and climbed the stairs into my loft. I closed the thin white curtains and stripped, walking into the bathroom and putting my phone on the speaker dock. My bathroom filled with Jack and JAck's music and I couldn't help but smile, knowing I'd see them soon.

The hot water cleansed my body as I cleaned my hair and body. I got out and dried my hair and body, putting on a piar of shorts and a t-shirt. My hair hung in a pony tail and I sat in my bed with only my laptop screen glowing.

I tweeted once and my mentions flooded, girls had relized Sam had been not on as much... and they blamed me. Which is probably realistic.

I grabbed my phone and facetimed her. Her tired face soon popped up, I forgot it's 3 hours later there.

"Hey girl how are you!" I said and she smiled.

"Is everything okay?" She strait out asked, her smile not as big.

"Truthfully. No... it's not. I moved to California now."

"I know, your location is on." She chuckled and I shook my head out of stupidity. "What about you and Sam?"

"There is no more me and Sam. It drives me crazy mostly because I didn't even tell him I was leaving." I said choking ack tears.

"Hey it's okay. Sam won't be mad. You just needa keep your head up cause you're going to be getting a lot more hate. But I have school in 4 hours so I need to try and get sleep. Goodnight twinny." She said and I exited off my facetime.

I set my phone and laptop down on the nightstand and closed my eyes, needing sleep.
