I woke up in Sam's tight grasp. I sighed and watched my breath evacuate my mouth.

"Shit!" I whisper yelled, struggling out of Sam's arms and running to the control room. I looked at the heater, and pressed the small blinking red light. Within seconds I heard the heat kick back on... that's it?

"Hey!" I heard someone say behind me and I jumped a little, turning around and smiling at Jack J. "You couldn't sleep either?"

"It was so cold!" I said going into the living room and turning on the fireplace to heat the house faster. Johnson chuckled and I gave him a weird look.

"Nothing." He laughed.

"Just say it, I'm not a baby! I can handle it!" I said putting my hands on my hips.

"Why were you cold? You were with Sam weren't you?" He smirked and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Shut up." He laughed harder and I couldn't help but smile. "I'm going to make waffles!" I said getting out the ingredients. JJ nodded and got out milk and syrup, and the can of ready whip.

I started the waffle maker and made 8 while JJ cooked sausage.

"I'll go wake them up!" I said as Jack finished his task. I walked down the hall and into AJ's room where Jack was sprawled out on the bottom bunk, laying diagnol because he doesn't fit the normal way. I smiled and poked his cheek.

"WHAT?" He yelled sitting up and smacking his head on the above bars. He held his head as he winced and I laughed loudly.

"I made breakfast with J... so come eat when you get your act together." I laughed and he smiled while shaking his head. I backed out of the room and made my way to my own room. I admirred Sam's face, so calm yet a little smile had formed on his lips before he fell asleep. I kneeled down and ran my fingers over his forehead, he felt awfully warm. I shook his shoulder a little bit and he groaned, his eyes slowly fluttered open.

"Morning." He said, his voice cracking. He rubbed his head and squeezed his eyes shut again. "I don't feel good." He said quietly. He adjusted himself to get up and I helped him to the kitchen.

"Aye, there's Romeo!" Jack G said as Sam sat next to him. Jack's smile fell and he looked at me and then back at Sam. "Sam?"

"It's nothing! Just a cold!" He said flipping his hair out of his eye. I put two waffles on his plate and he covered it in whipped cream and licked his lips.

"So, we're having Thanksgiving at Sammy's tomorrow right?" Jack J asked and Sam nodded. Apparently the Jacks, Sam and Mike plus their families always have Thanksgiving together, but Mike's outta town.

"Kayla's going to be there too!" Sam said smiling across the table to me. I lightly smiled at his pale face as he stuffed his mouth with sausage. I watched them all eat in silence. The outside air blew against the window, light flurries ran down the glass.

After cleaning up, we all decided to go over to Jack J's house and make pies with his mom. One of my favorite things to do with my family was to bake for holidays.

"Hey honey!" Jack's mom said wrapping me in a warm hug. "We've missed seeing your bright smile around here." She said smiling at me and then furrowing her eyebrows at Jack as if asking what he did to me.

"Busy. I've been super busy." I said and she nodded and walked us into the kitchen. I pulled a ponytail off my wrist and tied my hair up.  I felt Sam's head leanon my shoulder and his hands sat on my hips.

"You two are too cute." She said handing everyone aprons. I smiled and felt my cheeks redden. I tied the apron tight and tucked in the extra string into the pocket of the apron. I walked over to the boxes of mix and started mixing one while the guys started making pie crust. "So are you all moving?" She asked and I looked at her confused. "I just figured since Jay lost his job, and he wasn't making enough at the new place-"

"What?" I asked confused, apparently my voice was very loud because the guys alll looked up.

"I shouldn't have said anything!" She said mixing her bowl. My head fell and I looked at Sam. I wiped my eyes with my sleeve and continued stirring.

About 4 hours later, me not saying much in that time, we finished and Sam drove him and I home. He pulled into his driveway and motioned for me to come inside. As he opened the front door, we heard laughter and Lori appeared.

"Hey they're here!" She said closing the door behind us before too much cold air came in. Sam helped me out of my coat and he hung it in the closet. Lori walked us to the living room and sat us down on the couch. "Sam, introduce." Lori said pinching his arm.

"Oh right, guys this is my girlfriend Kayla." Sam said locking our hands together. "Kayla, that's my sister Annie, brother Benny, and you already know Emily." I smiled and waved at them.

"Damn Sam, you're right! She is a cutie." Benny smiled and Sam squeezed my hand and smiled at me too.

"I'm sorry bout them hun, the boys in this family are pretty weird." She laughed and everyone joined in.

"Well. it's almost supper, Kayla you're welcome to stay." She said and I started to get up.

"um thanks but I have a pizza on the way! I'll see y'all tomorrow!" I said grabbing my coat. Sam wrapped me in a hug.

"I'll come over later. Leave the back door open." He whispered in my ear before kissing my cheek and opening the door for me.

When I got home I ordered the pizza and sat on my bed and opened my laptop. Once the pizza came I managed to eat it all. I slid under my covers after showering and preparring for bed. I shut off the light and turned on netflix on my MAC. I heard the back door open and shut and Sam called out. I mumbled I was in my room. Sam came in and kneeled on the floor next to me.

"Hey, I'm the one with the cold! You shouldn't already be sleeping." He said pushing the hair out of my eyes.

"What if I leave?"

"Don't say-"

"Sam!" I said sitting up and looking into his eyes. "This isn't a fairytale, with my luck my story will have a bad ending." I said quieting down. "It already has ended." I whispered thinking about my parents.

"Your life didn't end with them Kay... they want you to live a happy and full life. I want that. Nik and Jay want that for you! But you can't dwell on a maybe. Let's just live life in the now." Sam said and his thumb wiped the tears under my eyes.

"My bags are packed." I whispered and he smiled.

"There's that smile!" He said pointing at my lips. He pressed his against mine for a second. "Are you feeling okay?" I nodded. "Good, it's just my allergies!" Sam said squeezing my hand.

"I'll see you tomorrow morning." I said yawning and he pressed his lips to mine again.

"I can't wait baby girl. You get some sleep. This weekend you get to meet my fans." He smiled and I watched him leave the room and exit the house.

Sometimes I like to go to sleep thinking about the world. How imperfect it is. Just like the people that live here, and the things that go on here.

I closed my eyes and drifted off into a perfect sleep.
