"Shut up, we won't be breaking up any time." I told Johnson as I sipped my coffee. He laughed and nodded. Sam and Nate were on the Reality Dance tour thingy doing what he does. So it was just me and the Jacks for the weekend. Since I live with them now, we've grown even closer.
I looked out of the window and saw the blazing sun. It never gets old here. I've been in California for about 8 months, Sam and I have been back together for about 6 months.
"Wanna go surf?" Johnson asked and I shook my head. "Want to go skate?" I sighed and glarred at him. "Okay... how about we go find Jack and we'll have a movie night and I'll order pizza and we can all cuddle by the fire like little pandas." I smiled and he nodded. "Good, let's get a move on girl."
As I followed him outside I watched the people around us. Mostly teens in tiny swimsuits and abs like none other.
"It's just gross." He said after a few minutes.
"What?" I asked. He pointed to the beach filled with the teens. "Oh, yeah I know."
"Sad thing is, that girls these days don't understand that they are beautiful without showing skin." He said and I smiled. Jack had the biggest heart, and that's probably why there are so many Johnson girls out there.
Once we got to the house, I saw Gilinsky sleeping by the pool. I cupped a little water in my hand and threw it at him. He jolted up and wiped his face.
"What the hell was that for?" He yelled at me.
"Well I wanted to watch a movie with you and J." I said partially hurt that he was so angry at me.
"Hey, I'm sorry Kayla. I was just tired, I didn't mean to yell." Jack G said as he brought me into a hug. I squeezed him tighter, wishing he was Sam. "Sam said he misses you, and that they're going to be back tomorrow night."
"No talk about him, let's just go inside, Jack's ordering pizza." I said and he smiled.
When we got inside Gilinsky and I brought down all the blankets in the house and made a space on the floor for all 3 of us. I sat in the middle with the pizza box on my lap. Gilinsky wanted to watch The Last Song, so that's what we did.
"Did she like purposefully stop playing?" Gilinsky asked me. I propped myself up on my elbows.
"You really haven't seen this?" He shook his head while grinning. "Oh gawd, just watch." I said laying down and grabbing his arm. He was always so warm. He smiled and nuzzled closer to me. Just as the scene where he dad dies came on, I heard him sniffle.
"God, you guys are wimps!" Johnson said to us as tears streamed down my face, but not much longer he started tearing up.
I felt myself getting sleepy and it was only 8:30.
"I can't stay up any later." I said yawning and Gilinsky laughed, pushing the hair out of my eyes.
"How about we go to sleep then. It's a big day tomorrow." Johnson said rolling onto his side. I closed my eyes and rolled so my back was to the ceiling.
"You literally have the weirdest sleeping habits." Jack said to me and I started to laugh. I couldn't stop actually. It eventually turned to tears though.
"I miss my parents." I said as Gilinsky got up to turn on the lights. I couldn't stop.
Sometimes I cry so hard to the point where I can barely breathe and I would have to get rushed to the hospital... until Sam entered my life. He knew how to calm me down.
"Kayla look at me!" Johnson said cupping my face. He looked at Gilinsky to see what he had to do but Gilinsky looked just as scared. "Get Sam on the phone!" JJ said to Jack. Jack pulled his phone out and I heard it ring a few times before I heard Sam.
"What do you need dude, it's like midnight-"
"Kayla is having one of those-"
"Put her on!" Sam yelled into the phone. Jack handed J the phone and held it infront of me. I could barely breathe. Sam looked calm as can be. "Hey baby listen. Aye Kayla. Right here. I'm here." He said I nodded. He smiled partially. "You remember when we went skating?" I nodded slowly, my heart beating fast. "And how you kept falling but I always caught you?" I nodded once again. "That wasn't me baby girl. It was your parents. They're always here for you. We just can't see it with our eyes. But we can see it with our hearts, if you accept the fact that they're gone from your eyes, just not your heart." My heart beat slowed down and I could catch my breathe.
"Sahh amm." I said in between wimpers.
"Yeah baby?"
"I miss you." I said quietly.
"I miss you too babe. I'll be home soon. I love you baby girl."
"Love you." I said and hung up. I set the phone down and covered my face.
"You okay?" Gilinsky asked, rubbing my back.
"WHY DOES HE LOVE ME? Nobody should have to put up with my bull shit and sucky life, Jack. It's not fair for him!" I said.
"He doesn't care about your past or any of that sweet heart, he just is so deeply and madly in love with you that he'd do anything to have you happy. In fact, we all love you so much that we'd do the same. But you are so in love with him that he's the only cure." He said.
"He won't want to deal with me for the rest of his life."
"Are you kidding, honey, he'd be mad if he didn't pop the question soon." Johnson smiled and I felt my stomach loosen. I looked at the both of them and hugged them.
"I love my boys." I whispered and they laughed.
