It was a peaceful afternoon in Shirotsume. The normal people walking about and enjoying their day. I sat outside a little cafe and drank my coffee when I heard a small but loud ring. I looked up and saw that the towns daycare was getting out. Right on time. I finished my coffee and walked over to the gate, waiting like everyone else.

"Mommy!" I heard a little voice scream. I turned my head and saw brown curls running my way. "Lexi!" I picked up the 4 year old and hugged her tight. When I turned to walk away I got the usual stares you would expect an 18 year old mother would get.

Of course I should explain that Lexi isn't actually my daughter. I took her in when my boyfriend and I found her wondering the streets. Normally I would've taken her back home, but not only did she not know where she lived, but there was a note in her pocket that clearly explained the parents couldn't take care of her. We tried birth records to try and find the parents to either give her back or sign her over, but there was nothing. it was as if she came from nowhere. Well, we went to the authorities and after much consideration, and a few threats here and there, we were signed as her legal guardians.

The small brunette grabbed my hand as we started to walk. "And then Ren chased Samantha around the playground until she dropped his hat." She laughed as she finished off her stories of school.

"Sounds like you had a lot of fun." She smiled and nodded. Like normal, I grabbed a copy of our paper, Fiore Daily, and than headed back to our small house just outside of town. I unlocked the door and headed in with Lexi at my heels before she bolted to her room. "Homework?" I called out from the door.

"No, just a coloring packet!" She yelled back while running towards me to show off the work her teachers gave her. She ran and sat down in the living room putting the the pages and colors on the table getting to work. I sat on the couch behind her reading the usuals in the paper; festival updates, wanted adds, and advertisement for guilds and request forms.

I was about to finish it and get up when Lexi spoke up and pointing to the front page. "Rogue and uncle Sting!" I flipped it over and smiled at the picture.

"Sabertooth Does it Again!" Is the headline and the picture is of the Twin Dragon Slayers. There he was, my best friend on the cover of every magazine and newspaper around.

Even after all these years and all the fame, he's kept his promise, coming by and visiting Lexi and I. Even though I'm certain it's because Frosch reminds him.

I heard Lexi's stomach growl and smiled. She follows me to the kitchen as I prepare dinner, just simple rice and steamed vegetables. I need to go to the store... I say to myself, keeping the mental note. I make three plates. Me, Lexi, and Ryuu. I wrapped Ryuus in plastic wrap and sat it in the cooler by the door. Lexi and I sat and ate our dinner like normal, just us two surrounded by silence.

"Time for bed mommy." I finished washing the plates and grabbed Lexi dropping her in bed making her laugh her adorable laugh. I read her the story "The Princess and the Dragon" before tucking her in. "Mommy, when is Rogue going to visit again?"

"Well, he just finished a mission, so I'm sure when he's back in town he'll tell you all about." I smiled and said goodnight to the sleepy child and headed to bed myself, alone, like always.
