Ashe's P.O.V.

I smiled slightly at Rogue's shy gesture. He shouldn't be shy around me, we've known each other for years. After we left the flower room I grabbed his hand and led him to a shaved ice stand. He hid his face as I tugged him along, making me laugh and him curse.

"Do you really need so much syrup?" I asked looking over noticing him pouring half a bottle of syrup onto his ice. And adding more when I pointed it out, just to prove a point.

"If I don't, than its just ice and that's boring." He shrugged and walked to a near by bench. He took a bite of his ice and scrunched up his face. I laughed and he glared at me. "It's fine, just need to get used to it."

Laughing at his failed attempt to convince me, I took a bite of mine and sighed. I only tasted ice. He smirked when he heard me, grabbed my ice, and mixed ours together. It wasn't as bad but still really sweet. "We're idiots aren't we?" He laughed and tossed our half eaten desert out.

"Rogue!" Here came the missing part of our group. "Can you take me to the ball toss? Sting won't let me play." Lexi turned to Sting and pouted earning an eye roll from him and a grin from Rogue.

"Sure lets go." He stood up and Sting took his place. Lexi and Rogue walked to the stand laughing as they did.

"So, how have things been?" He asked with concerning eyes and a calm voice.

"Perfect. I honestly feel happy right now." We smiled and fell back into a silence.

"Rogue and I and some others are going on a job soon, you two should go too."

I turned and stared at him, confused as to why he'd want me to go and not to forget Lexi as well. "You know I don't use magic. Plus, it's too dangerous."

"It's not like that. We're being held up in a hotel, a nice beach resort. The job is about three miles away from the hotel so you guys can just stay and relax while we work, plus the vacation is probably well needed." He's right. I've been trying to handle this separation like an adult. I've tried to call Ryuu but he just ignores me, the schedule needs to be made, and he still hasn't picked up his stuff. Lucky for me, Lexi understood the situation and accepted our change. "Besides, Rogue's the one who asked, im just the messenger."

I smiled at the thought of Rogue wanting me to tag along, even if it was just to get a break. "Alright, I think a break is well needed." Sting gave me a weird smirk and raised his eyebrows. "What?"

"Oh nothing." I would've pressed on but Lexi had shoved her new stuffed bear in our faces.

"I won!" She was jumping up and down and dancing with the brown fluff. "I'm going to name it.... Lector!"

"I told you not to name it that!" Lector yelled up, but there was no changing her mind. "It doesn't even look like me." We all laughed as Lexi danced around and Lector pouted.

----

"Alright, thank you guys again for today. It means a lot." We were saying goodnight at our front door. Lexi was already asleep as well as Frosch and Lector.

"Goodnight Ashe, make sure you're at the train station by six tomorrow." Sting smiled as they walked away with his cat asleep in his arms. I nodded and walked inside, putting Lexi to sleep.

I spent an hour packing our bags, hoping I didn't miss anything. "I don't even know how long we're staying." I shrugged, hoping I had enough and went to sleep.

Rogue's P.O.V

"You got her to go along?" I asked Sting on our way home.

"Yeah, I figured she'd say no because she doesn't use magic, so I'm suprised she gave in so easy." He smirked, knowing something that I don't.

"What?" He noticed my confused and annoyed state and chuckled a bit. I sighed getting irritated that he won't tell me. "Just tell me already."

"It's nothing. Just looking out for my best friend." He slapped his hand on my shoulder and his smirk grew.

"Whatever." We reached my apartment and we said our goodbyes. I put Frosch in his bed and went to my own. Why wouldn't Sting tell me what happened? What did he say to get her to go? My hands clenched when I imagined him leaning in to whisper something in her ear, something to convince her to go.

Calm down Rogue. Why are you getting so angry? Before I could answer myself I forced myself to sleep.
