"Good morning." I said to the myself as I got myself up and dressed. Walking to the kitchen I check the cooler. Sighing when I see the food still there, I take it to the elderly lady next door, Mrs. Wilson, who thanks me as usual.

This has been going on for a while. Ryuu and I have had problems for the last year and they won't go away. We've tried making it work, for Lexi, but it's hard when there's no feelings left. We tried relocating, which is why we moved here, in hopes that a change of scenery would help, which didn't work. And after that we even tried marriage, but after 3 months of non-stop fighting, I cancelled the engagement. So for the past two months, he's been working on jobs that take him out of town for weeks at a time. As hard as it's been for Lexi, it doesn't seem to bother her as much anymore, which is great. But I still go through the normal routine so she doesn't think he's left for good.

I make Lexi a small fruit bowl with strawberries, mangos, pineapple, and watermelon before waking her up to shower. I put the food in her normal spot and wait for her to sit down with her wet hair. Standing behind her, I brush out the curls just to see them reappear seconds later. "Did dad come home?" The question made me stop. I looked down but replied cheerily.

"Yes baby, he got home late and even said goodnight to you, but he left early again this morning." She turned around smiling and I did the same. It hurt to lie to her like that, so blatantly, but if she found out this was the third week without her father here, she might lose it.

"All done." She gets down and shows me the outfit he picked out for herself.

"You're going to wear a purple dress and yellow shoes?" I ask looking at her outfit. "I knew something didn't look right!" She ran back to her room and reappeared wearing black shoes, looking up at me for approval. I smiled and headed for the door as she grabbed her bag and work and ran out the door.

-----

"Will that complete your order?"

"Yes, thank you." The young man smiled and took a seat by the window. I sent the order back and made his coffee. Working at this bakery has been absolutely wonderful. Not only are the people friendly, but it takes my mind off of my problems.

"Number 13." I smile as the young man hands me the money in exchange for his food.

"How's Lexi?" The tall brunette asks from the next register over.

"Good, she loves school and is obsessing over magic now." I smiled remeber her asking Rogue how old she had to be to join Sabertooth.

"You mean her days of princesses is over?"

"Oh not by a long shot, she just wants to be a magic wielding princess now." We laughed as we rang up customers. The rest of my day went like that. We talked about Lexi, recent news, and her favorite topic, Sabertooth Hotties.

"I'm just saying, if he cut his hair, Rufus could be hot." She winked and laughed as we walked together after work. "Out of all the people you've ever named, I think Rufus was the last person I expected to hear." We reached her house and I headed for the day care as she went inside.

----

"Mommy!" Once again I was tackled into a hug from a very tiny child. "We're going home now right?" I nodded and walked. She talked about Ren and Samantha and I grabbed my paper.

"Do you have homework?" I asked as I saw the house in the distance. "No since it's Friday the teachers said we were good for now." As we got closer I noticed the front door of the house opened slightly. I stopped and told Lexi to wait out by Mrs. Wilson's door. Stepping into the house, I grabbed an umbrella that was by the door and walked from the kitchen to the living room. A creak stopped me and I waited until I could see the shadow of someone in front of me. I swung the umbrella down and heard a familiar voice cry out. "Ow! Ashe, why'd you do that?"

I looked at him in shock before hitting him again, earning another 'ow.' "Sting! What are you doing here?" I was shocked, don't get me wrong, I was happy, but really? Why not leave a light on or, I don't know, close the door like a smart person. "Geez it's like you don't want to see us." He complained while rubbing his head. I heard tiny feet run through the house and knew what was coming.

"Uncle Sting!" She jumped and squeezed him so tight he looked like he might actually pass out. "ASHE!" I was, like Sting, tackled by cats, calling my name and saying how they've missed me.

"It's been awhile." I smiled, knowing exactly who said that. "Good to see you Rogue." The cats dropped off and I hugged the cloaked boy. I led them to the couch and let them tell the story.

"And Sting slashed the guy and dragon roared him and then we won." Lector reenacted the whole fight, only leaving out some parts to make Sting seem like the hero. "You're forgetting the part where Sting was thrown out into the woods and I had to hold the monster off for a good thirty minutes." Rogue seemed irritated at the fact that he was left out of all these stories told by Lector, of course he would do anything to embarrass Sting to make up for it. "Fro thinks so too!"

After "story time" we caught up and Lexi took Lector and Frosch to her room to play dress up tea party.

"And he still hasn't come back?" Rogue looked upset. I mean, it's no secret Ryuu and Rogue don't like each other, but with each visit, he seems to hate him more and more. "Yeah, I understand why he's mad, but marriage wouldn't have worked out. We fight too much and practically hate each other."

"So why not just end it? Get him out of your life and start over with just Lexi and you." I sighed at Stings suggestion, yeah I've thought about it and tried it but whenever I want to leave he comes back and takes Lexi everywhere she wants and then promises more. "Its hard to leave when your daughter is so attached." Rogue was going to speak up when the door flew open. I sank in my seat and Lexi ran in. "Dad!" She hugged and thanked him for saying goodnight last night.

"Anything for my princess. Hey, where's mom?" She must've pointed to the couch because I could hear the steps getting louder and louder. "There you are." He forced a smile and put Lexi down, telling her he needs to talk to me. I try my hardest to hide my face behind my blonde hair but it doesn't quite work.

"Hey Ryuu! Long time no see." Sting always tries to break the tension but it never works. He just gives Rogue the death stare and I swear whenever they glare like that, I feel like the room could explode any second. "Well looks like we'll be leaving, see you later Ashe!" He grabbed Rogue and the cats and left me there with Ryuu, dying every second I sat there.
