Rogue's P.O.V.

"Where the hell is this thing? Shouldn't we have found it by now!?" Orga was expressing everyone's thought. We had been walking for three hours and once again, nothing. Everyone was focusing and trying their best to try and find any sign of the beast, but my mind was elsewhere, Ashe. She had been on my mind all day and showed no sign of leaving. It was hard to think of anything else when I desperately wanted her here. If only she were here, she could use her- I immediately shook that thought from my head. She said she'd never use that again. I sighed and began helping the others search.

"Hey guys, over here." Lector and Frosch were standing on the edge of a cliff and looking down. We headed over and looked down too. At the bottom was a big, red monster covered in scales. It wasn't nearly as huge as mr. Chanslen described, but large nonetheless.

"So we found him. Now we jump down and-"

"No, if you want to get killed than go ahead, but if we want to succeed than we should take a minute to plan this out." Illiana huffed and walked away, obviously displeased with my answer. Yukino said she had been that way all night, ready to get going, so I could see her being angry we have to wait longer.

"Alright, Rogue and I will go to the right side of him. Orga and Rufus will go around the left side. Yukino, you and Illiana will wait up here. When the you see the signals, go all out. Lector and Frosch, you stay here just incase anything happens. Got it?" We agreed and headed in our directions.

"She seems to check out huh?" Sting asked once out of earshot.

"Yeah, nothing really unusual."

"Just keep your guard up, something doesn't feel right." Sting frowned and continued walking. I felt bad for Sting, he's been trying to change and become more trusting, so the fact that he's worried, worries me too.

The rest of the walk was quiet, nothing said other than a few quick plans. When we reached the bottom we took our places behind some trees and waited for Orga's signal. Once we got his, Sting sent his out and we took off out of the trees and towards the beast.

"Light dragon's punch!"

"Shadow dragon's crushing fang!"

"120mm black lightning cannon!"

"Memory-make: sword of the frozen black lightning!"

"Open, Gate of the paired fish! Pisces!"

We threw everything we had at him, just using basic moves. Illiana rode down on Pisces, attacking when she was close enough. Once the attacks were done, we waited to get a good look at the monster. He slowly stood up, wobbling a bit as he did. He let out a piercing roar and turned towards us. When we weren't looking, he flung his spiked tail at Sting, which fortunately he dodged. "Come one, one more go!"

"Black lightning sphere!"

"Memory-make: line of ancient master swordsmen!"

"Once more Pisces! Don't give up now!"

"Light dragon's roar!"

"Shadow dragon's roar!"

Once again we went all out, hoping to end this quickly. With one more shriek, he toppled over. We waited a bit, making sure he was actually down. Illiana and I took out our Katanas and stabbed him in a random area. The blades went in so easily... Since there was no noise or movement from the creature we pronounced him dead.

"I don't understand. If it was so easy to defeat him, why didn't we do it sooner?" Illiana glared at the body, asking the question we all wanted an answer to.

"Well, there's nothing we can do now. We should report back to the mayor and then head back to the hotel." We all agreed with Yukino, just happy it was finally over.

Ashe's P.O.V.

"Wow Lexi! It looks great." I was looking at our fourth sand castle we had built. I promised her we'd spend the day building as many as she wanted, already regretting it.

"Another one?" I laughed and agreed to build our next castle when I heard something. An ear-shattering roar. I quickly stood up and looked around frantically, preparing myself. Where is it? It sounded so close.

"Mommy? Are you alright?" I looked down and saw the worried face of my daughter. Everyone around us looked at me as though I had just suddenly grown and extra head. Did they not hear it? I sighed and sat down with Lexi, reassuring her I was fine.

What did you think you were going to do? You said never again. I sighed knowing I was right. "Never again."

Rogue's P.O.V

"Thank you, thank you so much!" We had just delivered the news to the mayor and he was so he happy he couldn't sit down. "I can't thank you enough. Thank you!" He gave us our reward and Illiana escorted us out to our carriage.

"Thank you. I'm so happy this nightmare is finally over."

"It's no trouble. If you ever need help, you know where to find us." She waved us off and we headed back to the hotel.

------

"And than Sting was all 'light dragon's roar!' And than the monster went down."

"Rogue did it too!" Lector and Frosch were reenacting the events from today as we sat on the beach after dinner.

"As I recall, we we're there too." Rufus motioned towards Yukino and Orga when Lector looked over.

"Well I was watching Sting."

"That doesn't mean we weren't there." Ashe laughed at the bickering, causing everyone to stop.

"At least the jobs done and no one's hurt." She smiled and everyone agreed. I hadn't seen Ashe all day, so seeing her I thought would calm my thoughts down, but her being in her bikini worsened them. Man, I'm disgusting. Sure we were all in our suits, but Ashe stands out against anyone else out here. Sting must have seen me staring because he gave that annoying look he's had on since we got here. I shrugged it off, trying to ignore him.

"Rogue, can I sit with you?" I smiled at Lexi and let her sit in my lap. After some time she tapped on my chest and pointed to the small sand castle she built by my feet. I tussled her hair, causing her to giggle and begin another one. I looked up and noticed Ashe giving us both a loving look, one a mother would give to a child and father. When she saw me looking she quickly turned to talk to Yukino, but not before I caught the deep shade of red spreading across her cheeks.

------

*Knock Knock knock*

I woke up, and I'm sure everyone else did, to the sound of loud banging on our door. Sting got up to get it since I showed no sign of moving.

"Hel- Illiana?" When I heard her name I got out of bed and stood by Sting, noticing everyone else seemed to be there too. "What's wrong?"

Illiana looked like a mess. Her short black hair had twigs and leaves in it and her clothes were torn and dirty. When she finally caught her breath she began. "It's mayor Chanslen, he's missing. We-we've searched everywhere for him but we can't find him." Her dark eyes filled with tears as she stared at all of us. "Please, we need your help."

"Wait here." We ran into our rooms and quickly changed. When we met back in the hallway she thanked us.

"There's a carriage out front waiting. Let's go." Illiana and the group raced out to the front and I saw Ashe watching. You could see she desperately wanted to go, but she looked away and smiled.

"Be careful alright?" She kissed my cheek and grabbed my hand. "We'll be waiting for you." I kissed her forehead and ran after the group. Pushing aside the warmth creeping up my neck, I focused on our new mission.

Where the hell is the mayor?

Hey guys, so sorry if this sucks, I rewrote it three times and kind of got lazy... Hopefully it was good and if not I'm so sorry.
