Have you ever looked at death up close?
How close?
How did that make you feel?
Let me tell you, it was scary, captivating, mind numbing. You don't get to take your eyes off of it. It sucks up all your attention and oxygen and keeps it in its pocket, patting it gently while maintaining eye contact with you—the eye contact you can not break. You stare right back at it as it witnesses you waver before it. It's not cruel, not callous—simply steady and unfaltering. It tests you whether you'll give in before it takes you or you'll live to go with it. And, that is an answer only to be received and uncovered by death itself.
