~ Chapter 27 ~

~+ Shadow's POV +~

I was in the living room by myself. I did hear a few yelling tones from the kitchen. But I knew that Jewel can handle that situation. Including Alpha. I look up and saw my family's pictures. I walked towards it and saw Jewel, Kuro and me. I placed it back to where it was and look at the clock on the wall.

It's at 4 pm in the afternoon.

I took my phone out and texted mom about Jewel and Bethany's schedule. When I received mom's text, I heard footsteps. I turned around to see four of them back. This time, Bethany was clinging onto Storm's arm and Jewel holding Alpha's hand. I look at them with surprised.

"What happened?" I smiled.

"We found out that it's better this way and not date much. Bad things happen..." Jewel smiled back.

"Shadow, I'm sorry. But I have to leave and focus on my work now. I need to defend my school grounds," Storm nodded his head slightly. "Bethany, we need you."

"Alright, I'll come..." Bethany smiles at Storm.

They waved us three goodbyes and left by the door. I look at Jewel and Alpha who were smiling at each other. I smiled slightly at their adorable cuteness. I sat down and checked my phone to see something odd. Mom's text wasn't that short. Usually, she texted me with long text. But, I might be wrong. She probably has to hurry off to work again.

"Shadow~ Alpha and I wanted you to go out and walk around the neighbourhood with us!" Jewel chimed.

I could see that Jewel was excited and Alpha giggled. I chuckled and stood up.

"Alright, I'll come. But I need to get my hoodie."

Jewel nodded and Alpha smiled.

"You always have to have a hoodie on, don't you Shadow..." Alpha teased me.

"You already know that I hate wearing just plain shirt to go outside. Plus, it's mostly windy around here," I replied.

I went upstairs to my room and grabbed my hoodie. I put it on and shove my phone into my pouch. I ran back downstairs and gestured Jewel to go first and followed by Alpha. I followed Alpha from behind and locked the door before going anywhere else. 

~+ Jewel's POV +~

I walked down the pavement and we set off to the park. I still remembered Storm walking this way with me. I shook my head off that memory. I look around and saw someone familiar. I ran towards her and hugged her. From what I know, Ruby was startled. But she did hug me back.

"Jewel! I missed you!" She ruffled my hair.

"I missed you too, Ruby!" I looked up at her and she smiled.

"Hey, Jewel! Wait up!"

I turned and saw Alpha with Shadow, running towards us. I laughed a little to know that I may have outrun them and left them behind. I watched them as they huffed and puffed, trying to breathe in. Shadow chuckled and walked towards us.

"Oh, Hey Ruby!" He waved.

Alpha walked slowly towards me and dragged me away.

"Hey, Shadow! It's nice to see that you're outside" Ruby smiled.

"Where's Jayden?" He asked.

"Uhm... He's over there somewhere with my little brother," She pointed to a nearby lake.

"Ah, I see... Let's go and meet them, shall we?" He turned to us both.

I nodded and Alpha did the same. We four walked to the lake and saw Jayden with another boy. He has dark red hair and wearing almost the same as Ruby's. He saw us and waved. Ruby waved back as those two ran towards us.

"Ruby! Jayden was being a pervert again!" That red-haired boy whined.

"No, I wasn't! It's not true!" Jayden denied.

"Now, now... Jake, meet my juniors and Shadow," Ruby gestured to us.

"Oh, Hi! I'm Jake! Ruby's only little brother!" He cheerfully introduced himself.

"Hi, Jake! I'm Shadow. This is Alpha and Jewel. Jewel's my little sister!" Shadow smiled warmly at him.

"Hi!" Alpha and I said in unison.

For once, I met another friend. We all talked about different things from time to time. This is nice and lovely...
