A/N: So this is my entry for @Storiez0 contest. It is about 700 words, not including this note and the POV note. Enjoy and know I did this in one day, quality won't be top-notch.

Kennedy's POV:

Sun filters through the window and shines on my face. I slowly blink my eyes open and look at the lavender curtains around my bed. I jump out of the bed and quickly change into my dress for the day. I race downstairs to breakfast, eager to finish as my dad returns from his trip today. My mom laughs as I stuff my face full of eggs, pancakes, and bacon. I finally clear my plate and say "I'm done mamma!"  "Alright sunshine, go wait for your father at the doors." I smile and race to the doors, almost tripping over my skirt. I stand next to my dad's attendant and bounce on my toes giddily. "Good morning Princess Kennedy." "Good morning Rodriguez!" I say. He chuckles. "Happy to see your father hmm?" He asks. I nod, too excited for words. Soon, the doors burst open and my dad stands in the wide doorway with a large smile. I run up to him and he scoops me up. I let out a few giggles as he spins me and says "How was my favorite daughter while I was away." "I'm your only daughter daddy!" I exclaim through my chorus of giggles. He smiles wider and says "All the more reason for you to be my favorite!" I giggle more and say "Uncle  Rodriguez kept me company but it was a bit boring without you." I give him a fake pout and puppy eyes and he says "How about...we spend the day together!" For the next few hours, I am with my dad, always holding his hand or in his arms. He has a meeting after a while. I go to my room and gather up some toys, racing off to the living room where daddy told me I have someone I can play with. Rodriguez opens the door for me and I run inside with a small bag. Sitting in the couch is a boy with brown hair and chocolate colored eyes. He looks at me and immediately I become shy. "Hi, my name is Dylan, what's yours?" He asks. I hug my bag close and say "Kennedy." He smiles and says "pretty name! So what's in the bag?" I dump the bag out on the floor carefully. Out comes an array of cars, board games, and coloring supplies. "You play with cars?" He asks, picking up a small red truck. I nod shyly and blush from embarrassment. "I think that's cool, I've never met a girl who liked playing with cars." He says. My small eyes widen and I smile and grab my favorite car, a blue and red Spider-Man car, and start driving it around an imaginary track. Dylan soon joined and we played for hours, switching from cars, to games, to coloring. I was drawing my favorite place in the garden when Dylan looked over. "How can you draw that good?" He asks, looking at my sketch in wonder. I smile and say "I take drawing classes."  He nods and says "Well, compared to your's, my picture looks like scribbles." I giggle and say " Mine used to look like scribbles too, all it takes is practice." He nods and both of our dads exit the conference room. "Looks like I'll have to leave. Bye Kennedy." Dylan says sadly. I frown and say "Do you want to be friends?" He perks up and says "yes!" I smile and give him a hug. "Bye Dylan!" I call as he walks out with his father. My dad smiles at me and says "So did you like playing with Dylan?" I nod and say "Yea, it was so much fun! He didn't even tease me for playing with cars!" My dad chuckles and says "That's good to hear. He is your betrothed." I tilt my head and say "What does that mean?" He just chuckles and scooping me up in his arms.

I sit up from my bed with a gasp. Hot tears start slowly rolling down my cheeks. Dylan stirs from his sleep next to me and sits up. "What is it love?" He asks drowsily. I look over at him and say "I remember. I remember it all." He looks at me in confusion and says "Remember what?" "We met when we were younger..."I look at him with a mixture of sadness and joy. "You were there the day my castle got stormed by assassins." He takes my hand in his and says "It's alright love." I give him a small smile and say "I was dreaming about it but...somehow...I reached almost a paradox. Where they never came for me and my family and I found out that you were my betrothed." His eyes widen and I smile again, wiping the remaining tears from my cheeks. I lay down again and find comfort in Dylan's arms. I let out a sleepy sigh and take one last glance at the ring on my left hand before plunging into sleep.
