A/N: Before you get started, this is set during their college years. Just a little FYI to keep in mind!
Kennedy laughs and cuddles against Dylan more. She looks at him and smiles, her eyes sparkling with joy. Dylan looks at her and kisses her forehead, mumbling "I can't believe you wanted to watch Princess Diaries. It is the cheesiest movie ever."
Kennedy giggles and says "I can't believe you let me pick any movie I want. And it's funny."
Dylan sighs and pulls her closer. "It's because I love you. And it does have it's moments. Besides, what kind of boyfriend would I be if I couldn't man it up and make it through a rom-com that his girlfriend picked?"
Kennedy rolls her eyes and says "you just wanted to lay with me for a day. Don't think I can't feel you trying to pull me closer every few minutes."
Dylan hums. "You love it though." Kennedy sighs but lays her head back on his chest, resuming watching the movie. Soon the credits roll on the screen and Kennedy sits up, stretching her slightly stiff muscles. She hangs her head and groans from the tension in her shoulders from the long week.
Dylan looks at her concerned and says "stress from school Love?"
"When do I not have that?" She mutters in response.
Dylan shifts so that he is behind her. He then reaches up and starts rubbing her shoulders. Kennedy immediately relaxes under his touch and sighs. She winces slightly as he starts rubbing a particularly bad knot. After a few minutes, Dylan lightly runs his hands down her arms before grabbing her waist and pulling her against him. Kennedy smiles and leans into the embrace, relaxing against him.
"You need to relax more love, it's not good for you to be so tight all the time" Dylan mumbles into her hair.
"I know, I just....sometimes can't but stress about my future. I'm going to be Queen in the future Dylan, and I'll have so many lives resting on my shoulders."
"Well I will be right there with you when that time comes but you need to enjoy the moment." He kisses the top of her head and her eyes flutter shut, weariness pulling her to the edge of sleep. Soon she drifts off in Dylan's arms.
~~~~~~
"Kennedy, love, wake up." Kennedy's eyes start to open and she sits up some, letting out a small yawn.She turns around and blushes as she meets Dylan's loving gaze. "Did you sleep good?" He hums, tucking a stray hair that was in her face away.
"Yeah. I mean I guess it's hard not to when you're holding me."
Dylan chuckles and kisses her cheek, causing Kennedy to blush darker. She lands her forehead on his shoulder and groans from embarrassment. "You will be the death of me."
"Not yet sweetheart" he says teasingly, tickling her sides. Kennedy squeals and tries to escape, pushing his hands. She giggles and gasps for air, squirming. Dylan stops and wraps his arms around her tight before giving her a hug.
"I love you" he says, kissing her neck.
"I love you too." Kennedy pulls away before landing a long kiss on his lips. Dylan smiles as they break apart.
"I have a little surprise for you but you'll need to wear a dress. But don't worry about finding one because Chloe bought you one."
Kennedy looks stunned at him, her mouth partially open in disbelief. "Chloe, as in your evil cousin who's hated my guts ever since you started dating me Chloe?" Dylan nods.
"She changed the past few years. Anyways it's on your bed in a box so go get ready." Kennedy grins widely and kisses him before running to her room. Dylan just chuckles and goes to the guest room to get ready.
Kennedy sees a red box on her bed and opens it. Inside is a small note saying Have fun! Oh, and keep the dress. She smiles before pulling out a beautiful red dress with 3/4 sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. The bodice and sleeves are covered in a delicate crimson lace that is replaced by a few layers of the same colored tulle over the skirt.
Kennedy changes into the dress and puts on a pair of crimson heels. She then braids her hair loosely and puts on light makeup. Right as she finishes her makeup, she hears a knock on the door. "Coming!"
Kennedy walks over to the door smiling and opens it. Dylan whistles before saying "you look gorgeous love." Dylan was wearing a black suit with a white undershirt and a crimson tie.
"You don't look half bad yourself." Kennedy teases before pecking his cheek lightly. Dylan chuckles and pulls her out of the room gently, kissing her.
Kennedy giggles and pulls away. "So where are we going dork?" She asks.
Dylan takes her out of the apartments and there's a small limo waiting outside. "Dinner." They both get inside and Kennedy leans her head on Dylan's shoulder. Soon they arrive at the restaurant and Kennedy gasps.
"No, you didn't." She looks at Dylan stunned.
Dylan smiles and says "I made the reservation a month ago just to make sure we got a spot. And no paparazzi." Kennedy squeals before kissing Dylan. Dylan smiles into the kiss and pulls away slowly.
"Well let's go!" Kennedy demands playfully. Dylan chuckles and opens the door, turning around to help her out. He then offers an arm and Kennedy wraps her arm around his.
They arrive at the front. "Table name?" The attendant asks, looking in his electronic book.
"Dylan Allen Drekisson." Dylan says. The attendant nods and leads them to their table. Kennedy sits down with a small smile. Dylan sits across from her.
"I got you one last thing." He pulls a small jewelry box out of his pocket. Kennedy gasps as he opens it to reveal a small sun pendant with an orange diamond in the middle.
"Dylan...it's beautiful."She smiles with tears in her eyes. Dylan gets up and puts it on her. Kennedy smiles and grabs the pedant, looking at it.
"Thank you....happy Valentine's Day."
"Happy Valentine's Day to you too."
