Veronica was half asleep when Archie returned from work. Bella was in the other room asleep too. She had left one monitor to hear her, in case she cried.
-Veronica I'm home.
He yelled. He didn't got an answer though. He ran upstairs and saw his wife half asleep on their bed.
-Veronica!
He whispered as he got closer.
-Veronica! Where's Bella?
He asked worried. Veronica quickly got up and ran to Bella's room.
-She's in her room. You scared me Archie.
She said taking a deep breath.
-Have you fed her?
-Yeah. Before. I will feed her again in about one hour. Are you hungry?
-Yeah.
-Well I made spaghetti and meatballs if you want. I am so tired.
She went and fell asleep. About an hour later she woke up and went to breastfeed Bella. She sat down on her chair and Archie came to watch her.
-Is it okay if in the afternoon the guys will come? Betty will sure come too but I don't know about Cheryl and Toni yet.
-Absolutely not. Not today.
-Come on Ronnie.
-Archie! I don't let a lot of people in here. Especially now with the baby. Jughead and Betty may come, but only them.
He left angry. She continued breastfeeding Bella. As she stopped she got her in her arms so she could burp.
-Bella.
He heard from the monitor.
-I will always love you. And daddy will too. Alright?
She said and he could feel that she was in pain.
-But he will love you. I don't know if he even loves me anymore. Now he's missing a lot of hours because of his job. But you'll always have bothof us by your side. And uncle Jughead and auntie Betty. We will protect you no matter what. It's just that lately, he has been away from me. He doesn't sleep here, he only wants to be with his friends and I understand that. He wouldn't like to be all day with me and a baby. No offence.
He was still hearing her. She started sobbing and put Bella on her crib.
-Veronica!
She heard him in the door of Bella's room. She turned around and wiped her tears. He hugged her and told her that everything is going to be fine.
-Veronica I'm so sorry for acting like a jerk. It's just I want to make you and Bella happy. And I want to protect you. I love you Veronica so much. And today we are going to have fun as a family.
-Babe. I love you too. And I don't want to push you to be with us.
-I want to be with you guys. Don't ever think the opposite again.
-You heard me from the monitor?
-Yes.
He kissed her and she kissed him back. She then pulled away.
-I'm sorry Archie. I've been overprotective with Bella and we don't have so much free time as we used to. Together. You're working and I'm cleaning the house and play with Bella all day.
-It's okay Ronnie. I will find some free time just for you two.
-Also you can call whoever you want.
-No it's okay. I'll tell Jughead and Betty to come over. So you can have company too.
She giggled and kissed him. She got up and changed to a black dress with a colar and some white sneakers.
-What do you think?
She said going close to him, as he was now sitting on the bed.
-Perfect. Well what am I gonna wear? I have more clothes for the constructions.
-Here you go!
She said giving him a bag full of nice clothes.
-It was a gift for your birthday but our double date is important as well.
-Thank you Ronnie.
-Why did we turn to those parents that care only about their kid?
-We didn't. I always cared for you Veronica.
-I love you so much.
He changed to the light pink shirt and the black jeans. He slicked his hair in one side and put on some white sneakers. Veronica went and dressed Bella to a blue striped dress with some adorable yellow shoes. She got her in her arms and went downstairs and waited for the others to come.
