Veronica was acting a little suspicious the last few weeks. Archie was getting worried about her.
Day one: she doesn't come to his house.
Day two: not again
This continues for at least two weeks. She was about to go to work.
-I'm leaving!
She yelled opening the front door.
-Wait, wait Veronica. I need to talk to you.
-We can talk when I'll come back.
-You mean tomorrow morning?
-Look, I love you but I have a lot of work and I'm so busy.
She said taking a breath and kissing his cheek.
-I really gotta go Archiekins.
She said leaving him alone again.
Of course she doesn't come till midnight so he decides to go by her speakeasy to see her.
As he gets there he gets downstairs and orders a glass of whiskey. She comes by.
-Archie! What are you doing here?
She says surprised. Not happily.
-Aren't you excited that i came? I figured out since you wouldn't come tonight as the previous nights, I came instead.
-Alright.
She said swallowing.
-Make yourself comfortable. The show is about to start.
She said massaging his shoulders and going behind the bar.
Reggie comes and grabs her ass.
-Will you come to my place later?
He asks whispering to her ear.
-Reggie!
She says pushing him away.
-What?
He asks.
-Archie is here. We can't...
-I understand. But will you come to my place after?
-Probably not. But we can find some time in the bathroom.
She says to him winking and taking some drinks to some tables.
After a while and after the show, Archie starts searching for Veronica. He doesn't know though that she has left with one of his friends.
He goes back home but she's not there either. He calls her and message her. Still no answer.
The next morning he wakes up and finds her making breakfast.
-Where were you last night?
He asked mad.
-Good morning to you too.
She said turning around only to look at him.
-Hey hey. Answer me the hell now.
He said raising his voice going to her side. She turned away.
-I'm pregnant. I didn't know how you would react. And I learnt yesterday that it is a boy. So please don't yell at me.
-And the last few nights?
-I spent my nights at my house.
-Veronica, there's something you're hiding.
She turned around and looked at him. She then turned around as she had realised what was shown.
-What the fuck are those?
He said noticing the purple marks all over her neck. She turned around to look at him.
-I'm...I'm sorry.
-Who did them? Who the fuck did them? Because I for sure didn't.
-I...I...
The fight was interrupted, by the doorbell. She was thanking anyone that was behind the door. She opened the door.
-Reggie, what are you doing here?
She asked.
-You forgot your shirt at my house last night.
He said.
-You got with Reggie. He did those to you?
Archie asked mad seeing his friend giving her, her shirt.
-He did.
She said guilty of her actions.
-With my best friend Ronnie!
-Hey chill. Don't raise your voice she's pregnant.
Reggie said to calm him down getting in.
-He knew?
Archie asked leaving some tears fall and sitting on his couch.
-Yes. He knew.
Veronica said leaving some of hers fall too.
-The baby.
He said taking a deep breath and placing his head in his hands.
-What the baby?
-Is it mine or his?
He asked trying to hold some tears.
-His. But we were drunk. And...
Veronica started explaining.
-You continued behind my back.
Archie completed her sentence.
-You and Reggie. Do you love each other?
He asked sadly.
-I do. And I took care of her for about 4 months and for the baby boy. When you didn't care for her.
Reggie answered.
-Are you in love with him Ronnie?
He asked getting up.
-I am.
She said taking a step back.
-With him?
-Yes with him. He is right to what he said.
-Okay. If he's right, take your stuff and leave now.
Archie said sitting down.
-Now.
He said again. She ran upstairs and took her suitcase and started filling it with her stuff.
-Why are you acting like a dick to her?
Reggie asked.
-You dare talking to me?
Archie asked mad, getting up.
-Yes. Am I supposed to be scared of you?
-After everything bro?
Archie asked. He really did a lot of stuff for Reggie. But Reggie never did. Only supported him when his dad got shot. That was all.
-I can't believe that you betrayed me.
Archie said going to the kitchen. Veronica got down.
-Here are your keys.
Veronica said giving the keys to Archie.
-But where am I supposed to live?
-You can move in with me.
Reggie said, taking her suitcase. She followed and left the small house.
Leaving Archie alone. He started crying and crying. He lost her. He was thinking how much he loved her and cared for her.
