He called her multiple times but she wouldn't answer. The phone calls were declined. He quickly got to her house. He knocked a few times and broke the door as no one was answering. He ran to her room and found Reggie kissing her.
-Ronnie.
He said disappointed.
-Archie. I can explain.
-Can explain what? That you're kissing my best friend. Dude how could you do that? You stabbed me on the back.
He turned around to leave.
-No. You won't leave. I can explain. He kissed me.
-And you didn't seem to pull away.
-Archie.
She had gotten up and touching his cheek.
-Him or me.
-You of course.
She said with tears in her eyes.
-Tell me that you love me.
-I...I......
-That's what I thought.
He then ran out and left to his house. He got to his bedroom and started throwing things and hitting his punching bag with tears in his eyes. She broke him. She really did. Days later he joined the serpents and just became a darker version of himself. He would see her in the hallways in awful clothing. She would wear sweatpants with oversized hoodies without any makeup on and her hair was always up in a messy bun. Some girls were mocking her and making fun of her but he didn't seem to care. Some guys too. He wanted to beat the shit out of them but didn't took place.
Some weeks passed and she started to not appear. Betty was worried sick, so was he. But he tried to hide it.
-Have you seen her, Archie? I'm worried sick. I want to learn what happened to her. She hasn't posted in weeks. She doesn't answer my calls or my messages and you know that about 2 weeks ago she was coming with awful clothes and...
-Betty. I don't know what happened to her. After our fight we haven't talked. I'm worried for her too. Let's go by hers today. I want to apologise.
He said with tears in his eyes.
-Sorry.
She said as she had never seen that dark side of him. She was ready to cry because he had raised his voice a little too.
-Betty come here.
He said trying to hug her she took a step back.
-You probably haven't noticed it but you have changed. And that's probably why Veronica has been apart.
She suddenly bumped to someone and turned around to apologize.
-Hey Betts.
-Hi Jug.
She whispered with some tears on her eyes. His widened and he took a concerned and mad face.
-What happened?
-I talked to her a little jerkily. And mad.
-Archie, can you stop acting like an asshole? We all have seen how far you have been lately. And Veronica doesn't even come anynore around. How can we know if you didn't do anything to her?
-Are you serious Jughead? I wouldn't do anything to hurt her. Anything. I love her.
-You saw her kissing Reggie though.
Betty whispered not want to get into trouble.
-And we had a fight but that's all. Guys please don't leave me. You're my best friends. And I want to figure out what has happened to her.
He was now crying. Betty hugged him and assured him that everything's fine when it's clearly not. Jughead hugged them too and stayed there for couple of minutes.
The day passed on but she didn't come out of their minds. They all decided to go to her house. They knocked some times but no one answered. He again broke down the door and went to her room.
-Ronnie?
He asked but did not got an answer. He saw her body lied down to her bed and the bottle of pills beside her. He couldn't believe it. She had cuts all over her wrists and she wasn't breathing. Betty was sitting in shock behind Archie in Jughead's hug both crying.
-Call an ambulance! Call a fucking ambulance!
Archie yelled on top of his throat. Betty quickly called one and they came and took her to the hospital.
They were all in the waiting room waiting for some answers. Her parents were there too, back from their trip, Betty's parents, Archie's and Jughead's too. Josie, Kevin, Cheryl, Toni, Sweetpea and Fangs were there too. The doctor came by.
-Are you Veronica's relatives?
Archie quickly got up and answered.
-Yes. How is she?
-I'm sorry. She didn't make it. I'm so sorry to inform you that she passed away.
Archie started yelling and crying.
-Couldn't you save her? That's your fucking job. She can't be dead.
-Archie.
Betty quickly hugged him and they both cried on each other's shoulder. Hermione had fell down on her knees crying her eyes out. Everyone started crying so bad. Archie got out and sat in his truck. He started crying and talking to himself.
-I'm so sorry Veronica. I couldn't save you. I love you. Please come back.
He then saw his father getting out and looking at him. He got in.
-They said you can go see her. If you want.
Archie didn't answer but ran back in and to her room. He was looking at her soul-less body that had goosebumps all over and her cuts on the wrists that were very deep. Her pale skin making him have goosebumps too. He wanted to hug her. He wanted to tell her everything. He left ad gone to his house. He couldn't see her in that situation.
